I was thinking of getting a single share in Disney for a Christmas present. There is a company called 'One Share' who specialise in supplying single shares. You can order them ready framed etc. (although it becomes a bit expensive to ship if you do).

I was wondering if anyone on the boards has used this company to buy a single Disney share in the past?

I used OneShare to buy a Disney share for my DW for our first anniversary in 2001. This anniversary is traditionally paper and we were married in WDW so it made a doubly appropriate gift. :)

I went for the full package of having a frame and a little plaque saying 'Happy Anniversary' which I'll admit ends up looking costly compared to the actual value of the stock. Given the reasons for my purchase this wasn't a concern for me, and seeing the joy it gave my DW I would have been happy if it had cost 10 times as much :teeth: It now has pride of place hung on the wall in our hallway.

Whilst the purchase with OneShare was painless I would mention that it can take a a month for the good to actually arrive after placing the order which I think has to do with the time it takes OneShare to register the stock purchase and receive the certificate back for framing. As you are looking in April for Christmas you have plenty of time ;)

I hope this helps you.

Hi Tim,

I ordered one a WDW one a couple of years ago.I didn't buy it framed. The share is quite fancy/busy so you only need a plain frame anyway I think. It does look very nice:p

You've reminded me though, since we decorated last year I haven't seen the share since...I wonder where it is?

I've purchased from One Share twice - once for Disney and once for Harley Davidson. I didn't have the Disney framed by them, I had it framed locally. They did a nice job framing the Harley Davidson but it was expensive. I was very pleased with the company but AlanUK is right, it does take several weeks to receive the stock certificate (especially the Harley for some reason). Mousesavers has a discount code to save on the cost of the Disney stock - check out their website!

Great minds think alike!!!

Wow I don't believe it, I was only talking yesterday about buying one of these for Christmas for my DH. When are you thinking of getting it?

Yup,

I purchased a Disney one for Alison a couple of Christmas's ago.

You don't get any "perks" for being a shareholder though :(

Be aware that it can take some time to come through.

Yep Shaun bought it for me for Christmas - but I received it in time for my birthday - in May! LOL

I've took the plunge and ordered a Disney share (un-framed). Lets hope it gets here before Christmas :)

Mandymouse - I see you are from Nuneaton :)
I used to work in Nuneaton many years ago (Vanderhoff Communications down Bermuda Road).
We do our weekly shop in the Nuneaton ASDA too :)

Blimey - I must be lucky! My Disney Share arrived today! Less than 2 weeks from ordering it :hyper:

DW's been asking me what it is :smooth: All I need to do now is take it to the local art shop to get a it put into a nice frame ready for Christmas :)
