One Resale Contract vs. Multiple?

We are looking to buy resale - about 200 pts at BLT. We have seen a few 200 contracts with the UY we want, but they are few and far between. What we have seen though is multiple smaller contracts - all with the same UY that we want - that would add up to that 200 (i.e. 50, 50, 100 or 100, 100).
My question is - if they all have the same UY, is there any downsides to buying multiple smaller as opposed to 1 big?

No real downside. Easier to downsize with multiple smaller contracts if you eventually decide to reduce the number of points you own.

BLT has been hammered recently. I did some workings which you can find here. To be honest small contracts usually a better chance of going through as closing costs higher portion of total.

The risk/reward of looking for a 200 point contract vs a series of contracts is in the amount of time you are willing to spend on the process. Waiting for the perfect contract can take time, but once you find it, you are dealing with one bidding/closing process (assuming it is not taken by Disney). If you opt to piece together a series of smaller contracts, that will take some time and increases the overall cost (you will most certainly pay more per point and also closing costs on each contract) not to mention you could have some of your contracts taken by ROFR where others maybe not and then you prolong the total process. So long as you know that going into it, its really up to you. I SORTA knew I needed more than 125 points, but my first contract was 120 which in my mind was to "dip my toe in the water a bit" and I quickly added on after that. The 120 point contract was enough to get my first trip booked, so it was good enough to get me started. Good Luck...there is no right or wrong answer here; just do what feels right

If you buy multiple contracts, be sure that they are titled EXACTLY the same and that after the first sale, you tell the broker/title company that you already have a membership and want the purchase added to that membership. It will be a hassle to use the contracts together if they are not part of the same membership, and FWIW, there are fewer website problems reported when you have only one membership.

BLT tower has been ROFR a lot lately I’ve had three contracts taken since Jan and so have other Dis members. It seems to me they are buying mostly FEB UY points. I wonder if thats strategic by Disney because now that they can change the UYs they are trying to spread out some of the FEB contracts they buy over other UYs since BLT has a very high FEB UY distribution when they initially sold there.

Cost and headaches with the purchase.

-ROFR and just general hassle of getting contracts signed and forms notarized.
-You will pay more per point for a smaller contract and closing costs on each one add up. You'll probably pay close to $1,000 more for 3 contracts than 1 in just closing costs.

Disney doesn't care. They are allowed to change the UY to resell. But lots of stuff getting through ROFR as well!
