unless they are legitimately with someone who needs access. The Macy's parade accessible viewing site was fine. However, we had problems in the accessible viewing site for Grinchmas. First off, you have a family of 10 with one person in a wc taking up most of the space. Then you have people sending their children through this area to sit up front. These children are not with anyone who needs to be in this area. One mother, sent her two kids in, then one needed to go to the bathroom, she tells the other child stay put and leaves well, of course, this child now wants mommy. These kids were probably 3 and 4.
There are ECV's and standard wheelchairs in these areas. To have children in these areas that are not with anyone is unsafe. I saw one ECV go over a curb while waiting for the Macy's parade. If there was a child there... Also, although most wait for the crowds to disburse before trying to wheel themselves out, some do not. You now have unattended children trying to get out and around wheelchairs, etc. Just not safe. Please either get to the event earlier to stake out a spot or go later.
