One of the funniest things I've ever heard at WDW:

Last week my mom and I were in line for Spaceship Earth and this woman was standing at the entrance looking for someone who was in line that was with her group. I had to choke back the most extreme laugh ever when she goes "Joe, how do you get in the line??"

Uhhh....I would try the entrance. :rotfl2:

Last week I was on the bus to DHS and when we arrived there was a couple that was SHOCKED they were at DHS.....they thought they were on the bus to Epcot! Now I do realize that the signs at the resort could be a little confusing, but how do you miss the lighted SIGN on the bus or the announcement..."Were on our way to...." I know I've got several more but I just can't think of them right now.

Disney will 'build it and they will come,' but there's no guarantee they will understand. :upsidedow

Wasn't really funny as much as sad and sweet but we met a nice couple with thier toddler and grandmother in AK parking lot 2 years ago boarding the tram that had never seen as many cars as were in the parking lot (it was RD in September, too, we were in walking distance of entrance), much less a parking lot that big. He was from a small island in the Carribean somewhere with a total population of less than 500. We chatted with them and walked thru the turnstiles with them, stuck a map in thier hands and tried to point them in the best direction we could.

People go on trips all the time with no clue as to what to expect. I dont know why (or how!!!) but sometimes they still manage to have a good time. I need to at least know the laws of the land of wherever I am visiting, if not having a good knowledge of every nook and cranny beforehand. It makes me more comfortable and I feel like I am not missing out on something b/c I didn't know about it.

The funniest thing I've ever heard came out of my grandaughter's mouth. I had taken her and her dad for her first trip to WDW the year before. She is a daredevil whereas her dad is a ride chicken. She wanted to go on Rock n Roller coaster. Her dad told her she was too small and would be scared. She put both hands on her hips and yelled, "you're the chicken not me". I told him I'd take her, but he insisted she would be scared and refused to let her. Exactly a year later (when she was about 8 y/o) I took her back by myself for a GM-GD trip. Before we left she kept talking about Rock n Roller coaster and how she was going to ride it. I asked my son and he just shrugged and said it was up to me, but she'd be scared. My GD again informed him that he was the coward not her and she wanted to ride it. I called my ex D-I-L to ask what she thought and she told me to take her on it, as she was a daredevil like her mom and she'd love it. We got to DS at rope drop and was the first in line. In fact, the CMs who were walking us back to the rides had to keep telling my GD to slow down and not get in front of them. I kept asking her if she was sure she wanted to ride it and she gave me the most disgusted look, said she had been looking forward to this for a whole year, and couldn't wait. Once we got on and pulled the overhead restraints down, she started asking where the seatbelts were and when told it had just overhead restraints, suddenly panicked. As the CM walked by checking everyone's restraint, my GD yelled 'what do you mean it doesn't have seat belts?'. The CM told her it was fine and to hold on. During the entire ride my normally calm GD screamed at the top of her lungs, "I'm falling out! I'm falling out!". As soon as we got off the ride I asked her if she was OK and she very quietly said she thought so. All the way through the gift shop and walking outside I asked her if she was sure she was OK and she'd just very quietly say "yeah, it wasn't that bad". I asked her if she wanted to ride it again and she said maybe, but could she think about it. Then suddenly just as we exited the building and walked outside where everyone was sitting on that little short wall waiting for family members, she turned, placed both hands on her hips, and screamed at the top of her lungs, "What were you thinking! I thought you loved me! I could have been killed!" When I reminded her that she insisted on riding. She yelled, "What do I know! I'm a kid, you're supposed to be the adult! Geez! My mom is not going to like this!". When I reminded her that I had asked both her mom and her dad about taking her on the ride. She gave me a disgusted look and said "What do they know? They aren't here!" Everyone in the vicinity had turned to look at her and started laughing. She looked right back at them and demanded to know what they were laughing at, as it wasn't funny, she could have been killed, and grandparents are supposed to take care of their grandkids. She then started stalking off muttering to herself about how adults shouldn't be responsible for kids.:rotfl::rotfl:

I think the funniest thing I've heard was when we were walking to the entrance/turnstiles for MK from the busses. A woman looked out at the ferry boats and said, "Oh that's the Disney Cruise Line." She was serious, too!

These are GREAT!

This March when we were there for DW first trip we walked from Boardwalk to Epcot after showing her around, when we entered the back entrance another couple asked where the castle was and my wife like an expert said, "you are at the wrong park, there are 4 parks that make up the World, you need to head to Magic Kingdom, and you can't miss cinderella's Castle, but here you will find a bunch of countires and a giant Golf Ball...."

She started off so good, lol, but the couple walked away thinking they had met an expert....

Hahah!!!! These are great.

My favorite was a coworker who went to Disney with Pop Warner with his kids, and hated it because there were no "rides" and how awful the food was. I then went with the coworker to Epcot a month later as we were there on business. He's like wow - I didn't know there were actually things to do and places to eat inside the countries in Epcot. (Keep in mind, he was miserable the whole time and didn't get to really see much of anything anyway), but at least we had a good dinner at Teppan Edo.

My Mother at epcot:

'Mission: Space? Is that where the rockets launch from? I don't want to go one one of those, I don't like heights...'

Bless her, she is 70.

Oh, and another gem from the walking entertainment unit that is my Mother:

'Pirates of the Caribbean? I didn't realise we were so close to the Caribbean. How long does it take to get there?'

These are absolutely priceless!!! God love her!

passing by a family on Main Street in MK, I heard the father to his son say, "but first we have to suffer through it's a small world for your mother..."

made me giggle ;)

I feel the same way about IASW! My family and I avoid that one. :rotfl:

"We've been lucky, we haven't had to ride the monorail at all because our hotel is right within walking distance to the Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney." - Overheard at Epcot

And the person who thought World Showcase was where she thought Soarin' was because she thought it was the Land. Then when I pointed out where the Land Pavilion was, she freaked out about how she would even get there.

Loving this! It's rather impressive that this person's hotel was in walking distance to both of those areas but the rest of us have to use transportation. I am assuming this person has really really long legs to make the trip so easily. :confused3

2 weeks ago DH and I were watching the MSEP.
The lady behind us was SO excited to see Snow White in the Pumpkin Carriage! She was even telling her daughter, "Here she comes!! Look at Snow White in the Carriage!!" SHe was saying it over & over again.
At first, I thought she was totally joking. But then I realized she WASN'T joking and really thought that Cinderella was indeed Snow White.

I wonder who she thought was with the 7 Dwarfs??? :confused3

:rotfl2:

aubriee - you are my kind of Grandma!!! That was an awesome story!

It also made me think of two experiences we had last January. We were at DHS for EMH and in line for RnRC. We started talking to a dad and his son as we moved through the line. The son was about 8-9 years old. He was a little apprehensive about the ride so my ds10 and dd14 were telling him how much they loved it. They also told him to be sure and keep his head back and that the launch was the coolest thing. The son seemed a bit more confident after talking to my kids. We rode the ride and as we walked throught the gift shop, my son is looking for this kid. He finds the kid and asks him if he liked the ride. The boy looked at my ds and said, "That was just WRONG!" and walked away. I really hope the rest of his trip was better.

A few days later dh and I are in line for EE. We started talking to the two moms and two daughters in front of us. The girls were rather apprehensive about the ride and asked dh and I if we had ridden before. We told them we had and we really liked it. We also told them our kids loved it too and in fact were in line somewhere ahead of us. We continued to chat all the way through the line and still the girls seemed to be not quite sure if they wanted to go. They did get on the ride. About half-way through, I hear the one girl yell to her mom, "can we do this again?!?!" We exited and the girls ran up to us and thanked us for talking them through it. I felt a whole lot better after that one.

I still feel bad for that kid, but every now and then one of us will blurt out, "that was just WRONG" and laugh...........

THIS so sounds like my DH! He has to always nag me about it. So this year when he started in on me with it I had the kids all sing the theme song all day long :)

If it was the week after Turkey Day it could have been him. :rotfl:

Several years ago while waiting for our reservation at Crystil Palace I over heared a husband tell his wife that to get a reservation you have to pay for it in advance.

Not for Crystal Palace, but it is true for Cinderella's Royal Table! ;)

Can someone parse this quote for me? Do we have any idea at all what the guest was trying to say? Where they were staying? Where they were walking to?

Put up your best theory!

My theory: They were staying at the Boardwalk, and thought that Future World was the Magic Kingdom, and World Showcase was Downtown Disney.

Thinking outside the box.

Stayed at Hard rock Hotel.

Universal studios is the Magic Kingdom and City is Downtown Disney. :rotfl:

I think it fits better then your explanation. :thumbsup2
