I was wondering what restaurants in DL and DCA have one of a kind interesting or fun menu items? For instance the cookie boat at BB is a fun unique thing.

I'd love to hear of the special creative menu items that can only be found in certain places at DLR.

Also at Blue Bayou is the creme brulee dessert that is sooo good. There are 3 little pots, each with a different type of creme brulee (vanilla, chocolate, and I think mango?). But the neatest thing about it is this absolutely cool little treasure chest that has 3 shortbread cookies in it. The cookies are nothing special but the chest is completely made out of sugar! You would never know it to look at it.

Wine Country Trattoria in DCA has orange sorbet served in a real orange. They also have some really yummy lasagna but I'm not sure that would be considered "fun".

And we just tried the Full Throttle Fries at Taste Pilot's Grill in DCA and they are SO good! It's their criss-cut fries topped with chili, chese, sour cream, onions and tomatoes. It almost seemed like nachos only with fries instead of chips.

Around the time that Haunted Mansion Holiday is set up, the French Market in NOS has the CUTEST Nightmare Before Christmas themed desserts! Last year they had cheesecake with a molder sugar/gumpaste Jack Skellington head, and some kind of Jello-with-fruit dessert served in a coffin shaped container. There was one other dessert there that was really cute, but I don't remember what it was.

Tigger Tails from Pooh's Corner...I have never seen them anywhere else and boy are they good and sweet!!!!

During the holidays, you can find the adorable gingerbread men with mouse ears cookies. They are sold at most of the candy shops and bakeries, but they are exclusive to that time of year. They are pretty hefty cookies, too - not flimsy at all.

Of course, these are not particularly unique, but you can only find the Mickey Mouse full size pancakes at the River Belle Terrace and the full size MM waffles at Carnation Cafe. (Smaller versions of the pancakes and waffles can be found at character meals..)

Oh! The PCH Grill in the PPH has that decadent, sinful, artery-clogging "Kitchen Sink" dessert, which has like 8 or 10 scoops of ice cream, every topping you could ever imagine, as well as brownies, candy bars and all kinds of stuff thrown in it - it is ENORMOUS!

Goofy's Kitchen used to serve creme brulee French toast, but apparently that has been removed from their buffet offerings....however, they do offer Mickey-shaped cobbler!!

Ohh these all sound yummy! Thank you!

I have seen a picture of a giant sunday in the park, and also a kids meal that was on a pallete.. does anyone know where these are from?

The giant sundae - it really is huge - may be the Kitchen Sink thing that I spoke of (at the PCH Grill in the PPH). But there is a much smaller sundae called the Matterhorn Sundae (only 2 or 3 scoops of ice cream) that is served at Carnation Cafe. I think that may be where you get the P,B&J pallete also.

I'm just two days back from the park. I decided I could live on the Mickey Mouse Crispy Treats and the bacon wrapped asparagus Safari Skewers at Bengal Barbeque for the rest of my life. I think I'm making crispy treats tomorrow.

Yes the P, B&J pallete is at Carnation Cafe! It's so cute, my DD loved it!

Thanks for the tip! We're always there in Oct for DD's bd and are huge Nightmare Before Christmas fans!

I just wanted to 2nd the orange sorbet at wine country trattoria.. I must have that each visit. It's so delicious.

Oh, good - I thought I had seen the P,B&J pallette at Carnation but was beginning to second guess myself! Is that the only place where it can be ordered?

Tigger tails and I love the corn dogs on Main St. (although corn dogs are not that one of a kind, these are the best I have ever had though!)

I think it is the only place, but I could be wrong!

DLR seems to do fruit really well - it is always succulent and fresh - so it doesn't surprise me for a moment that those raspberries were awesome.

In fact, anticipating my upcoming 'get-the-Fun-Card trip' in 2 weeks - when it is supposed to be 85 degrees, at least - I am craving one of those yummy pineapple spears!

Also, on a holiday food note, during the Christmas season, Plaza Inn serves something for dessert called a Peppermint Pot Cake (actually it has a much longer name, but that is the basic name of it!), served with whipped cream in a collectors holiday mug. I haven't seen that anywhere else in DLR.

And let's not forget the seasonal fudge - pumpkin fudge and peppermint fudge, specifically.

If it's the same tiny mug I have a pic of....somewhere, a tiny little white coffee looking mug with a candy cane? They sold those at blue ribbon bakery as well :)

I can't wait for all of the fun holiday treats to start appearing!

Don't forget the yummy delicious monte cristo!!!!!!! sooooooo good!! or the pome frys, ( both at cafe orleans) my mouth waters at the thought!!

The Matterhorn Sundae is quite large ~ the kids and I split it this past May and we couldn't finish it! It has at least 3 scoops each of strawberry, chocolate & vanilla ice cream! It was all we ordered. Looking forward to this again next Wednesday!
