We’re off to Florida for Christmas and New Year and have bagged a 1 bed Jambo club level room for our last night. We think Magical Express will leave at around 5.30pm on check out day, so we should get plenty of use from the facilities!
Having never stayed club level, or indeed in a 1 bed before (we usually do Studios), I was hoping for some tips and experiences :-)

Awesome! You can check in early in the morning on check in day, even though your room probably won’t be ready. Bell Services will hold your luggage. Then you can have breakfast... including Jambo juice mimosas. They are delicious! Plus you can stay in the lounge up until you leave on check out day. Enjoy!!!

Ah right, didn’t realise that. So we could get there at 8am and get breakfast there, even though our room won’t be ready until later?

Yup. We took a red eye flight from CA and arrived shortly before 7 a.m. at AKV. We had to check-in downstairs because the check-in desk wasn't up yet at that time, but by the time we checked in downstairs and were brought up, the food items were already set up!

Absolutely! We always do that. They'll check you in, store your luggage (though you can have Bell Services pick up from your old room instead), and then have breakfast.

It's a nice experience except that our view was limited (too high, and some roof view). After a few days you realize that the differences are really limited to:

1. feeling special because not everybody can access that floor via the elevator, and
2. the lounge and eating area, where you'll have seen and grown tired of the available snacks pretty quickly.

One night is PERFECT. Our 4-5 night thing started to feel like a slight waste of points.

Oh, and use the tongs. I reached for an item which was blatantly hanging off of the plate...relative miles from the rest of the food on the same platter. The attendant made a point of approaching me quite awhile afterward to say something like "I noticed you not using the tongs earlier, young man. Please use the tongs. It's a matter of cleanliness".

Hits so much harder to be scolded in a magical place like that.

I have to agree with this. Its nice to be pampered & have access to the food & beverage but we find it does limit us from dining elsewhere since its there, and included. And yes, it does get repetitive after a few days. We started doing 2-3 nights CL & the rest elsewhere or AKL non-CL.

Yes, that is true. The view is disappointing. We often do a split stay with a savannah view room, so we enjoy the view a few days and the club perks a few days. If we had to choose one or the other, we’d choose savannah because we love the animals so much!

We just snagged a 1 bedroom club level at AKV. We wondered whether one night would be fun to experience club level. It will be our second to last night and we are going to move to a savannah view 1 bedroom the next night. At what time would you lose access to the club lounge, end of the day on our last night? Also, with the FP+ issues with spilt stays, I'm wondering if I should keep my BCV for the whole week. TIA

The minute you check in for the savannah view room, your magic band will quit being able to access the club lounge - as you cannot be checked into two rooms at the same time. You can talk to the Concierge CMs in the lounge and see if they can do something to facilitate your coming up to club level after you check in for the Savannah view room - but they probably won't be happy about it ( although they will be professional).

The same thing applies to the morning of your arrival at Club level- if you are still attached to another room on property, you won't be able to access the club lounge - and at that point, it is really hard to get someone at the lobby desk to understand what you want to do - and the only people who can (or will) fix it) are up in the lounge that you cannot access easily.

As regards the FP+ - I didn't have any problem making fastpasses for the entire trip at the 60-day mark from the night of my first stay - as MDE was able to see my continuing reservations .

It is true that your magic band will not give you Club Access once you check in for the savannah room - and will not work until you officially check in -- but you are entitled to use the lounge as soon as you check in until the end of your check out day. The Club staff can provide access with a temporary card. They have done this for us before. And you will be able to have breakfast as soon as you check in with the desk on your check in day - even early in the morning.

We have never had an issue getting access on our first or last day to the CL lounge with a split stay. On our arrival day, I just ask a CM to bring us to the CL lounge so that we can check in for our stay, and on checkout day, before I leave the lounge, we ask for a key card so that we can access the elevator even though we are checking into our new room. You have until midnight of your checkout day to use the lounge and we have never had an issue getting access from the CL staff.

We also would agree with this. We stayed for 3 nights and were extremely disappointed with the view (underside of the roof). As we were on the dining plan (split stay) we did not utilize the food/beverage service very well. This may be a nice place for your last night to allow you to relax and unwind before the fly or drive home. We will not be staying here again.

Thanks all! The view doesn’t bother me as it’s only for one night. Also, we’re staying in a savanna room earlier on in the trip, so we’ll do all our balcony time then :-)

We really want to make the most out of our one night, so thanks for all your tips :-)

Just a little update now we’ve had our stay. We were in an accessible 1 bedroom, which we didn’t ask for, as we didn’t need, but I’m guessing that’s just what was available. We checked in at 8am so we could get access to the lounge. We said we’d take the first room available as we were there for one night. Our room became available about 4.30pm. We were about two rooms away from the lounge which was perfect, but the view was pretty awful as it overlooked construction vehicles. Wasn’t an issue since we were only there one night. We left on DME the next day around 5pm so it worked really well as we used the lounge until we were collected.
Overall, absolutely loved it, and it was perfect for a check out day, being in a 1 bedroom, I got all the laundry done before we left too.
Wouldn’t stay more than a couple of days due to the point cost, but definitely enjoyed it. The food and drinks in the lounge, and the CMs up there were wonderful.

Thank you for the update.
We are going for a few days in May. Will be at BWV studios for a few days then club level one bedroom at AKL for a few days. But in our case, we will need the accessible room. My DD stayed in a club level room and she told us the bath is like a soaker tub/ shower combo. My DH would never be able to get in and out of a tub with a high wall.

I glad to hear about no issues using the lounge before or after check out. After our 3 nights club, we then have one night standard room and leaving at 7:30 AM. I was hoping to be able to use the lounge up to the night before, even though we had moved into a reg dvc room.

The bath was definitely the type with a shower over the top, so quite a high step to get in.
I asked about how long we could use the lounge and they said until midnight on the day you check out, so even though you’ve left, you’ll still be able to use it that day.

WE have always enjoyed our CL stays. They are much harder to get now,
