Ok probably a dumb question... but here goes. I LOVE WDW, my DH just goes along, but is not a big fan. I have always wanted to stay onsite at WDW, but we always stay offsite (Vistana resort is our favorite so far) I would like to stay at least one night onsite on our next trip-probably/maybe/if I can convince DH- next Nov/Dec, to see for myself what it's like! If I have a res for at least one night onsite, can I book my FP's at 60 days, for all my ticketed days, or just the one night onsite? We would probably buy 8 day hopper tickets for this visit. Also, if for only one night onsite, which resort would be the best? Oh and, it would just be my DH and me- we are in our 60's... He loves a bargain, I love Disney! For just one night, I would be willing to pay for it, but don't want to pay rack rate....TIA!!!!

We are heading WDW in March and have done this. Our first night is splurging at Animal Kingdom Lodge, then we are moving on to Bonnet Creek for a week. We were able to do fast passes for our entire stay.

I am not sure if you can book them for before your onsite stay. So say your last night is on site, you may only be able to do the day of arrival and any days after.

If your onsite stay precedes your offsite stay you will be able to book FP for your check-in and check-out dates 60 days prior to check-in. Then your 60 day window would roll forward one day at a time and you will be able to book FP for each offsite day 60 days prior to each of those days.

If your onsite stay is at the end of your trip you will be able to book FP for all days (offsite and onsite) 60 days prior to your onsite check-in day. This is assuming your tickets were purchased separately and are not part of a room/ticket package.

The FP FAQ thread explains, in detail, FP booking windows pertaining to split stays. See post #4 of this thread:

At 60 days book day of check in and day of check out. Then every day after that get on MDE and book each day a day at at time. Easy peasy!

When we do this, our onsite stay is our first day in the parks . .. . . so if our first park day is Aug 18, then our onsite stay is also Aug 18. You will be able to book FP+ for Aug 18, and 19 sixty days prior to Aug 18 (Jun 19), then the remainder of your trip you can book FP+ sixty days prior to each park day, so your Aug 20th FP+ you can book on Jun 21, then on Jun 22 you can book FP+ for Aug 21 etc.

You will also get free parking at the parks on your check in, and check out days (in this example Aug 18, and 19) as well as access to EMH on those two days.
