One Night Hotel Recommendation

Does anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive hotel not too far outside of Disney for quick one night stay?

We will be attending a wedding at WDW in June. It is an expense we did not expect, but really want to go. (The girl getting married was the flower girl in our wedding.) We have a DVC connection and plan to stay at BWV (wedding is at Boardwalk) for three nights, but need an inexpensive off-property hotel for our first night there. We will be arriving in Orlando at 9:30 p.m. and checking out first thing the next morning, so we don't need anything fancy.

Also, I'm thinking we could take a shuttle from wherever we stay that first night to one of the parks, then catch a Boardwalk shuttle bus that morning to check in to the BWV...save the $$ a taxi would cost. Flaws in my plan?

if you stay onsite you don't have to pay for transportation. offsite you need a way to get to the place.

You act like you are flying - then stay that night at an airport hotel that has a shuttle to the airport.

next morning take the DME to BWV.

the problem with offsite shuttles - they go to different hotels - they don't allow luggage - and it could take over an hour to get to WDW park. plus there is no free way to get there from the airport.

or stay at a value resort at WDW.

Yes, we are flying. Would it be better to stay at a hotel near the airport? Would we have to go back to the airport to get DME?

If we stayed at Beuna Vista Suites or Radisson Celebration, would it be that expensive to take a taxi to BWV?

Maybe it would be better to stay at POP or Music or one of those.

Our stay was a reverse of your's but it all worked out well. We stayed at POFQ and took DME to the airport and then caught the shuttle to the airport Marriot, which was very nice despite the renovations in the front lobby. I would highly recommend the hotel, as the room was very clean and plush-feeling. I got it on Priceline for $90, but upon reading posts, realized that I could have probably gotten it for much less.

DME was totally understanding when we told them we didn't have a flight and they even accommodated a last-minute time change. If you don't have anything wedding-related the morning after your flight, it might be a good option for you.

Thanks for your input. I think I will try an airport hotel that first night, then back to airport to catch DME to Boardwalk. Now I just have to decide whether to use Priceline or Hotwire.
