So this is not a disney trip but am trying to at least soak up some dtd during a college move trip. It will be just me. And I am taking the Autotrain home. I was thinking I could stay near DTD for the night. And enjoy the site a bit. Then head over to the autotrain in the morning.

This all came about as a result of outrageous train prices on Sunday vs. Monday. So Monday it is. I would rather spend my money on a hotel near disney than on a train.

Any tips for a reasonable priced hotel somewhere between Sanford and Orlando. Or just near DTD I really only care about clean and safe.
GO!
I would appreciate any thoughts.
We stayed with a great mousesavers rate at the B resort and that was great but alas no longer available.

You might try the hotels tonight App. Start looking now for what kind of hotel's you'll find. Betterbidding.com can help with priceline and hotwire, which can get you a bargain.

Not sure what you consider a "reasonable" price. During many times of the year, some of the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd. are what I would consider reasonably priced. As are the hotels near there on Palm Drive or whatever the street next to Crossroads Shopping Center is called. There's a Hampton Inn, a Hilton Garden Inn, etc. over there.

Reasonable for me would be under $100. I will have a car so I wouldn't mind driving closer to Sanford if hotels are cheaper. I looked and in Sanford it's kind of dumpy in the hotel front. Is winter haven an ok area?
Oh and it's next week

August 16th? I put in the for most recent B Resort deal via Mousesavers and got $79 with resort fee and parking fee waived plus a few coupons.

Did you go through the mousesavers email or website that would be great for me!

My only fear is that it is some kind of mistake because the deal says starting at $110. It says parking and resort are included but I fear I may get hit with those. Because of the very low rate. Opinions?>

I know a few people have complained but I've booked specials there a few times and never had an issue with them.

Maybe print out the page where is shows details of the rate and take with you. The rate detail does show "Mousesavers Deal" right on it. Then take a printout of the Mousesaver's page. I'm getting ready to book this for October so I'll take printouts of all to be sure.

Going through http://www.downtowndisneyhotels.com/special-offers/
- Holiday Inn has a deal for $89 with no resort fee but a parking fee
- BW has one for $82 plus resort fee $14
- Wyndham from $69 plus resort fee $18

They are probably just trying to compete with the others, filling rooms that are about to sit empty, so they drop the rate for some nights last minute.

I was nervous when we went in July. Because I was reading about some issues(actually only one person) and according to the desk they said they booked a different deal. So if the deal says what it says I am hoping it's ok. Mine went fine in July. The no parking and resort saves almost $40. so worst comes to worst that would be the add on I guess. The dates in the offer don't add up but I am hoping they will honor it. I'll let you know when I get back! We really liked it last time.

I've stayed in Davenport right off I-4. It's a few minutes from WDW property and much cheaper than hotels closer to WDW.

The Comfort Inn was decent enough and is showing as $55/night Aug. 16
The Hampton Inn there is showing as $76. I'm always partial to Hampton Inn myself as they have a good breakfast included.

There are other choices there.
