"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

Awww the Boardwalk!!!! We love it there! :lovestruc

The Haunted Carriage Ride sounds awesome, but so creepy too!!! What a fun experience!

Woah, I had no idea the headless horseman paid you a visit when you do the HCR!!! So cool and creepy, but mostly cool!!

I'm OK with the clown pool in the daytime, but at night the glowing eyes completely creep me out. (shudder)

OK, now thanks to you, I have another "must do" to add to our October trip. You just made the HCR sound way too cool!! So, seriously, THANKS! :goodvibes

The HCR sounds like a ton of fun! I love going to Fort Wilderness and just hanging around. I don't know why. I think it brings back good memories of a trip we took where we stayed there.

The carriage ride sounds great! About how long was it & how did you book it?

Love the pictures of the Boardwalk lit up at night. It looks so pretty! I hope we can make it down to that area someday. We just never manage to find the time!

The Haunted Carriage ride sounds pretty cool. The holiday one was fun, but this sounds like a nice twist on the experience. It'll have to go on the "someday" list!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? You got to SEE a REAL headless horseman??????? Now THAT is cool! Wow! I had no idea. OMG! I totally need to do this. It sounds really, really cool.

Just when you think you know everything Disney you go and learn something new. Love that place.

Great update Jen!:goodvibes

Lol at Brandon being so vague!! :lmao:

Sounds like you had a great time at BoardWalk :thumbsup2

The Haunted Carriage Ride sounds both fun and scary at the same time lol!!! :scared1: :rotfl2:

I knew they did a Haunted Carriage Ride but really have never read about one in a trip report. Thanks for sharing.

I think I would have been a little freaked out by the headless horseman too.

Okay, I loved your Chandler Bing reference, it made me laugh out loud. :rotfl: Don't you just love when someone gives you virtually nothing to go off of.

The Boardwalk looks so pretty, even with that creepy clown pool. It would be so nice to stay somewhere so close to shops and bars and Epcot. Maybe one day soon for you guys.....:rolleyes1:confused3

The Haunted Carriage ride sounds like so much fun! Not the first thing that comes to mind when you think Disney, but kind of neat little extra you can get while there. I bet it was so cool to get an upclose view of the headless horesman. A little terrifying...but cool! :lmao:

HAHAHA! I love your almost Chandler quote. :rotfl:

Aww, the Boardwalk! I have actually never been there! Well, besides sitting on the friendship boat outside of it! Crazy. OMG hahaha the clown pool. There was this restaurant that used to be open where I live and it had a clown, it was called the Ground Round. I have no memory of this, but apparently when I saw the clown (I was like, 2 or 3) I let out a blood curdling scream. SO, I think I understand your issue with the clown pool! But you're right, it doesn't look TOO bad.

OMG that sounds so scary! I think I would freak out and have nightmares and possibly die. I, unlike you, AM easily scared by things haha!

Yay for returning to the parks!

After finally exploring the Boardwalk on our recent trip, I really think I would like to stay there, but I will be honest - the pool is a turn off for me! I'm not even scared of clowns and I think it's creepy. :scared1: I looked and looked and looked for the stairs with the Boardwalk sign! Where are they?!

The carriage ride sounds so spooky! I am considering it for our October trip, but I am very easily scared so I'm a little worried that I would be traumatized. :lmao:

I love looking at pics of the BW! I think we might stay there when we go in 2013. As for the clown pool...it's terrifying, but the good news is that there are quiet pools and I don't ever have to look at that creepy slide in person if I don't want to!

The HCR is awesome, isn't it! It's funny because when we did it in 2010, our horse was a little on the lazy side so at the part where he's supposed to pick up speed and run from the Headless Horseman, he decided to just clop along at his own pace. Which.....was.....slllloooowwww! The Headless Horseman was so confused! It was pretty funny! But definitely a great experience and we'll probably do it again some time!

Wait, you really get to see the Headless Horseman? For some reason I thought he didn't, it was just a recording? That's so cool! I really want to do a ride now, especially if you can see the Cinderella carriage ponies. I love those guys! They're so cute.

I kind of like the clown pool and don't really understand all the fuss? idk, I never saw It but did go to the circus regularly so clowns were never scary to me (pretty much the one thing I wasn't afraid of! :rotfl:)

The HCR looks like fun! I am glad you had a good time on it :)

The Boardwalk area is awesome! I love it over there! It's peaceful and cute and like your somewhere else entirely!

I LOVE how you were "drawn" to EPCOT when Illuminations started :D Right there you definitely can tell how much you love EPCOT :)

It is so much fun! I definitely recommend it if you ever go in October!

I love the Boardwalk! You think it's going to be crazy and loud, but it's really not, it's fun and laid back. :)

Haha, yeah, it was crazy, I always feel the need to be at Epcot, I would live there if I could! :rotfl:

The HCR sounds so cool! I would be just like you and be terrified the headless horseman was going to come up behind me! That would freak me out!:scared1:

It's so much fun! It's fun looking over your shoulder and wondering when the headless horseman will come by! Scary, but fun!

Awww the Boardwalk!!!! We love it there! :lovestruc

The Haunted Carriage Ride sounds awesome, but so creepy too!!! What a fun experience!

I love the Boardwalk! I don't know why we don't go there more often!

I loved the HCR, I'm so glad we did it! I really liked seeing FW too, it's really nice over there! :cool1:

Woah, I had no idea the headless horseman paid you a visit when you do the HCR!!! So cool and creepy, but mostly cool!!

I didn't either, until we booked it and I started doing some research on it! And you can see him up close and personal, unlike the Halloween party when he rides down the parade route really fast! :thumbsup2

I'm OK with the clown pool in the daytime, but at night the glowing eyes completely creep me out. (shudder)

OK, now thanks to you, I have another "must do" to add to our October trip. You just made the HCR sound way too cool!! So, seriously, THANKS! :goodvibes

Haha, I don't like those glowing eyes either! The slide looks like fun, though!

No problem, it is really fun! :cool1:

The HCR sounds like a ton of fun! I love going to Fort Wilderness and just hanging around. I don't know why. I think it brings back good memories of a trip we took where we stayed there.

FW is really cute, this was the first trip we visited there, and we really liked it! Brandon wants to stay in the cabins someday, but I was like "uh, they hold 6 people, maybe we should wait til we have a kid!" I don't think the 2 of us need all of that space! Then again, it might be nice! :rotfl:

The carriage ride sounds great! About how long was it & how did you book it?

Love the pictures of the Boardwalk lit up at night. It looks so pretty! I hope we can make it down to that area someday. We just never manage to find the time!

Hmmm, I think the ride is about 30 minutes, because they depart every 30 minutes. You book it by calling 407-WDW-PLAY. You can book them up to 180 days in advance, just like your ADR's. I think I booked mine maybe a month or two before our trip?

We never have time for the Boardwalk either! It was nice that we had some time before the carriage ride to go over there, it's really fun! :)

The Haunted Carriage ride sounds pretty cool. The holiday one was fun, but this sounds like a nice twist on the experience. It'll have to go on the "someday" list!

It is really fun! I loved the holiday one, seeing the decorations is awesome, but I liked the HCR a little better for the Sleepy Hollow story that you can listen to! :thumbsup2

I know, isn't that awesome! I didn't know about it at first either, but after searching for people's experiences here on the DIS, I found out that he does that! :thumbsup2 You're going in October, right? You should totally do it!

Thanks! I love that there are always new, fun things to do at Disney! That's why it's NEVER boring for me!

Lol at Brandon being so vague!! :lmao:

Sounds like you had a great time at BoardWalk :thumbsup2

The Haunted Carriage Ride sounds both fun and scary at the same time lol!!! :scared1: :rotfl2:

Haha, seriously, like I'm supposed to know what "that place we went on our first trip" is! That could be anything!

Love the Boardwalk! And the HCR is awesome! I didn't think I'd be scared, but it's really creepy! :thumbsup2

I knew they did a Haunted Carriage Ride but really have never read about one in a trip report. Thanks for sharing.

I think I would have been a little freaked out by the headless horseman too.

No problem! I was excited to do this update, I never really see the HCR in TR's either!

The headless horseman was really creepy, especially how he leaned in over us!

Haha, thanks, I've been obsessed with Friends lately, as soon as I get home from work, there are 4 episodes on in a row, so I've been watching it for hours every day!

I had to make sure I looked at that clown pool in person, and it's really not as bad as it looks in the pictures! I think the only thing that would bother me would be coming out of it's mouth from the slide, I'd have to swim away really fast!

I'm so glad we did the HCR, it's nice to do different things like that away from the parks sometimes! :thumbsup2

HAHAHA! I love your almost Chandler quote. :rotfl:

Aww, the Boardwalk! I have actually never been there! Well, besides sitting on the friendship boat outside of it! Crazy. OMG hahaha the clown pool. Yay for returning to the parks!

Haha, I've been watching a LOT of Friends lately!

The clown pool always looked so creepy to me in pictures I've seen of it, but it's really not that bad, and that's coming from someone who hates clowns! Haha, awww, that's so sad that you were traumatized by a clown when you were little! Maybe stay away from the Boardwalk for a while! :rotfl:

It was kind of scary, I was really freaked out when he hovered over us like that, I just wanted him to go away! I didn't think I'd be scared, because I read about what happens on the HCR and I was expecting to see him, but not right next to us like that!

Isn't the Boardwalk so pretty? I don't think the pool is as bad as I thought it would be, but I'd still be happier if the clown wasn't there! I'm not afraid of clowns, I just think they're creepy! The stairs are in the front of the Boardwalk, when you park and have to walk in, they're near the lobby off to the side. We kind of just found them by accident!

You should do the HCR! You know what to expect now, after reading my update! :thumbsup2 And just keep telling yourself, it's Disney, nothing bad can happen to me, that's what I did!

I love looking at pics of the BW! I think we might stay there when we go in 2013. As for the clown pool...it's terrifying, but the good news is that there are quiet pools and I don't ever have to look at that creepy slide in person if I don't want to!

I prefer the quiet pools anyway, so I guess the clown pool wouldn't be a problem, but I don't think it would really bother me that much after seeing it! I really like the slide, it looks like so much fun!

Haha, our horse didn't pick up speed either, which is why I think the headless horseman just came up next to us and hovered over us! Which is SO much scarier than being chased!

Wait, you really get to see the Headless Horseman? For some reason I thought he didn't, it was just a recording? That's so cool! I really want to do a ride now, especially if you can see the Cinderella carriage ponies. I love those guys! They're so cute.

Yep, you really get to see him, it's awesome! The story is a recording, but he's real! :thumbsup2 The ponies are adorable! One of them was sleeping on it's side, like a cat, and the driver said they only do that when they are happy and comfortable in their surroundings, so it's nice to know these ponies are happy to live in Disney World!

Haha, clowns aren't exactly scary to me, but they're creepy! I just don't like their makeup, or their painted on smiles...and did you ever see the movie IT? Now THAT is a scary clown! However, the clown pool really isn't that awful, at least not awful enough to NOT stay at the Boardwalk! :yay:

Love the Boardwalk pictures! Ahh I can't wait to be there in April. I think it's funny how so many people don't like the clown. I can't wait to use that pool. LOL.

The Carriage Ride does sound fun! That's one of the great things about going to WDW so often-you get to experience things like that! :thumbsup2

Hey girl! Sorry I've been so MIA! I'm sure I've missed a lot :( but I just read your last update about the haunted carriage ride. It sounds awesome! I kinda wanted to do that for our honeymoon instead of the one at POR but I honestly think I'll be too scared! :guilty: Wow, I'm such a wuss lol

I love the Boardwalk! Chris gets such a kick out of the performers like Brandon was lol and I'm glad to hear the clown isn't as creepy as you expected!!

Thanks! The Boardwalk is so much fun, you're going to have such a great time staying there! :thumbsup2

The Haunted Carriage Ride was awesome, I'm so glad we did it! I love doing little extra things like this once in a while, as much as I love being in the parks, it's nice to take a break once in a while!

Hey, don't worry about it, glad you're still here! :cool1: The HCR was awesome! I really think you should do it on your honeymoon, it's really not that scary! The only thing I was afraid of was when the Headless Horseman might show up! And your driver kind of lets you know to look for him anyway, so they kind of take some of the suspense away! I just didn't like how he hovered over us! That was creepy!

The Boardwalk is so pretty! :lovestruc Ugh, I get so annoyed by performers of any kind, I don't know why! Brandon will stop and watch anything going on at any time, but me, forget it! I get bored within 10 seconds!
