"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

How cool that you were able to see the geyser from your room! (Well, while only slightly perilously risking falling!)

The two ornaments you chose are beautiful! I love all of the 40th Anniversary merchandise!

Yay for getting Jack!!! :yay:

Your cupcake looks awesome!! I love s'mores, that toasted marshmallow frosting looks sooo good!!

We never get tired of illuminations, and I guess I am used to it from your TRs and look forward to seeing your pictures of illuminations :D

We love the Norway pavillion in WS!!! And Malestrom!!!

So cool you can see the Geyser from your room!!! awesome :D

That cupcake looks SO DELICIOUS!!!!! Makes me want one, right now! LOL

I know what you mean about sleeping in at Disney! I am so not a morning person, but I like to get up and go when I'm there! There's just too much to see to be sleep! The view from your balcony was so beautiful! It looks so peaceful. :cloud9: Cute ornaments! And I love the Captain Jack vinylmation!

What a lovely view from your balcony...I would totally spend my mornings there, too! I haven't gotten into vinylmations, but Cap'n Jack looks pretty awesome. And that luscious, yummy looking cupcake...swoon!

YES I SAW THAT (AND EVERY) EPISODE OF GREAT HOTELS. Oh my God, that was the best show. I mean, I love all Samantha Brown's shows but that was my fave. They need to bring it back!

That Smores cupcake is definitely on my list for next time. It looks and sounds DELICIOUS.

Yay for seeing the geyser! I miss those Great Hotels shows. I wish they would do more of them. Atleast we recorded them and have a DVD compilation.

MMMMM, that smores cupcake does look really good.

Lucky you for getting the Jack Sparrow vinylmation! :thumbsup2

Your Captain Jack Sparrow Vinylmation is so cool!!!! Definitely one to keep...

Disney cupcakes are heaven. Pretty much all desserts at WDW are wonderful, but the cupcakes take sweets and go above and beyond. :wizard:

It's great that you were able to catch the geyser going off. Makes for a great memory of WL.:thumbsup2

Hooray for the geyser! That's so cool... and PHEW thank goodness ya didn't lose your head over that one.

HAHAHA yes the Swedish chef! I hadn't noticed him until you pointed him out, but I did notice Animal!

LOVE the ornaments you got! The one with the castle and Tinkerbell is so pretty.

YAY! So glad you got Captain Jack! Hahaha look at his little beard brades.

OH MY YUM. That cupcake looks amazing!!!!

Fun update, Jen. Although I don't care for the Vinylmation store, I agree with you on teh Christmas Store--it is my favorite, and I love the ornaments you picked out.

That cupcake has me drooling as I wait for Mark to finish grilling our chicken dinner outside. :worship::worship::worship:

The cupcake does look amazing! I am glad it tasted good as well! Sounds like you had a low-key day, which is wonderful... can't wait to hear about the fun @ MNSSHP!

We need to do a joint WDW trip please, Tim LOVES the orange side of Mission Space and my stomach cannot take it :headache: So you can be his buddy :rotfl:

YAY for Jack Sparrow Vinylmation :thumbsup2 I love when that works out!!

OH my gosh that cupcake looks so amazing!! sign me up for that!!
I remember that Samantha Brown epsiode at WL...too funny!! I used to love her Disney specials!!

My whole family was drooling at your cupcake. We are always looking for a specialty cupcake store wherever we go. The view was awesome too!

Oh My!! The cupcake looks good!!!

What I can see of the 2nd ornament looks really pretty! I wish I could go during the holidays!!

It was good! And totally unexpected, I knew they had the amazing cupcakes at Starring Roles and the Boardwalk Bakery but not Roaring Forks! :thumbsup2

I love Disney ornaments, I really need a separate tree just for Disney stuff!

Great update! Your mornings on the balcony at WL sound so wonderful! :cloud9: YAY for seeing the geyser! That's awesome!

I've never had grated potatoes but they sound delicious!

I love your ornament choices! I haven't bought any ornaments there in the last few trips we've taken, so I'm definitely going to get some in July! :thumbsup2

YAY for getting Jack Sparrow! John went crazy collecting Vinylmations last June, and then he decided to sell some of them. If I'm not mistaken the Jack Sparrow is worth quite a bit of money!

I don't blame you for being too excited to nap- that sounds like an awesome evening you have coming up! :goodvibes

I loved waking up and going outside for a little while before the rest of Disney World got going! It was so peaceful, such a great way to start the morning!

I don't know how you can resist getting Disney ornaments! I have to give myself a limit, or I'll go crazy!

OMG I don't think I could part with any of my Vinylmations, I love them so much! It's nice to know some of them are valuable, though! I love my Jack Sparrow! :lovestruc

It WAS an awesome night! One of my favorites of the trip!

Great minds think a lot - We are both updating tonight! :thumbsup2

That view is spectacular!

The cupcake is spectacular! How did I miss THAT when I stayed at the WL?

And Captain Sparrow is definitely a keeper! :goodvibes

Great morning!

LOL! What did I just say about great minds? You just posted on my TR! :rotfl2:

I almost forgot - cute ornaments and I am totally going to get that glass ornament in Germany if its still there in June!

Haha, that's funny, I feel like we do that a lot, we both update, and then comment on each other's TR's! :cool1:

I missed that cupcake the first time we were at the WL, so maybe it's new? Or I'm just completely clueless? They have some really good desserts at the WL, they have this huge brownie with frosting on it...yum!

I hope they still have that ornament when you go, I'm sure they will, when I was there, practically the whole tree was full of them, and then they had little compartments on the bottom of the tree filled with them too! I'll check for you in 46 days!

Oh my goodness! I love the Christmas store. I could spend forever in there, too! Everything is so expensive, though. I still pick out an ornament each trip-it's my thing.

I feel the same way about TrenD. Actually one of my biggest motivators for working out and eating healthy lately has been to fit into non-plus size clothing. So far, I've lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks.

I want to try that s'mores cupcake. I also want to try a magic cookie bar and I think they have them at Roaring Forks. Perhaps Greg and I can make it over to the Wilderness Lodge on our upcoming trip. We'll have a rental car after all.

Ugh, I know, the Christmas store is ridiculously expensive! I spent SO much money there one year, which is why I don't let myself buy too much there anymore, I can get really out of control! :rotfl2:

Yay, congratulations on losing 10 pounds! :goodvibes Are you doing any specific diet? I remember when I booked our May trip, we had 12 weeks, and I was like "yep, I'm losing 30 pounds in 12 weeks"...then it went down to 10 weeks, and I still thought I could do it...then 8 weeks, so I said "ok, I can lose 20"...now I'm down to less than 7 weeks and I've actually gained 3 pounds! Ughhhh!! I am still hoping to lose around 20 pounds before I go, but who knows? I'm lacking such motivation right now, it's awful! :sad1:

I got one of the magic cookie bars at the WL too, they are SO good, but they're huge! I had to take some of it back to the room with me, and then I think I still ended up throwing some of it away, it's just impossible to finish!

Beautiful view of the geyser from your balcony. :cloud9:

Why do your updates always make me hungry?! :rotfl: And I literally just finished eating a bowl of ice cream! That breakfast and the cupcake look awfully tasty, though.

Sounds like a nice evening coming up...but when did my Poly become yours?

Haha, I don't know, I guess I post about food a lot! We do spend a lot of time eating at Disney World! :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Well, I guess I can't technically call the Poly mine, since I've never stayed there! But I do love it so much! :lovestruc

I try my best to stay within my calorie count for the day and I do cardio every day.

I downloaded an app for my iPhone called MyFitnessPal, you can also access it from your computer. I use it to track my calories and my workouts. You can input data about yourself (height, weight, gender, goal weight, etc.) and it will tell you how many calories to eat every day. I haven't come across a food item (or a way to recreate the ingredients in the food item) I couldn't find yet! :) I love that it helps to keep me on track.

Greg (DH) and I joined a gym about 2.5 weeks ago and we have been going every single day. I do 45 minutes of cardio (on the elliptical or treadmill) and have been using a few of the machines. We have a trainer, we meet with her for a boot camp (it's hard as all get out) once a week and she has been great about holding us accountable.

You can totally lose 30lbs in 12 weeks. I lost 10lbs in 2 weeks alone! Go for it! :)

Haha, yeah, maybe I shouldn't have leaned over that much for a picture, although, now that I think about it, I'm glad I didn't drop my camera either!

The 40th anniversary stuff was so cute! I'm glad I got something to remember it!

That cupcake was so good, I'd visit WL in May just to get one! Although there are so many other cupcakes that I need to try!

LOL

Illuminations is the best! :lovestruc And Norway is always so much fun!

It was awesome seeing the geyser from our room! I'm glad I finally got a picture of it!

The cupcake was awesome! I love the dining plan! :thumbsup2

Haha, yeah, I can't sleep too late at Disney, and I always have a hard time going to sleep at night too, I want to stay up and watch Stacey! :rotfl2: I love the balcony at WL, it's such a beautiful resort! I love my Captain Jack Vinylmation! I need a display case for all my Vinyls! :thumbsup2

What a lovely view from your balcony...I would totally spend my mornings there, too! I haven't gotten into vinylmations, but Cap'n Jack looks pretty awesome. And that luscious, yummy looking cupcake...swoon!

Wasn't it such a great view! I hope I get a full balcony at the Beach Club so I can do the same thing in May, I'm looking forward to getting up and sitting outside with some tea before Brandon wakes up! I love Disney in the morning, so peaceful! Vinyls are so fun, but they get expensive! I'm actually going to start a Vinyl fund soon for my May trip, so I keep that separate from the rest of our spending money! :rolleyes1

Oh my God, I miss Great Hotels! :sad1: It was such a great show! Remember the one from the Yacht Club? That's how I first heard about Stormalong Bay and thought "wow, I have to stay there someday!" :cloud9:

That cupcake was amazing! :worship: I loved the chocolate bars baked into the cupcake, pure genius!

Yay for seeing the geyser! I miss those Great Hotels shows. I wish they would do more of them. Atleast we recorded them and have a DVD compilation.

MMMMM, that smores cupcake does look really good.

Lucky you for getting the Jack Sparrow vinylmation! :thumbsup2

I wish I recorded more of the Great Hotels episodes! :sad2: The only one I have on my DVR is the Wilderness Lodge episode, which I've watched so many time, I practically have memorized!

That cupcake was really, really good! I love s'mores! And I love my Jack Sparrow Vinylmation! :lovestruc Can't believe I got him on the first try!

Your Captain Jack Sparrow Vinylmation is so cool!!!! Definitely one to keep...

Isn't that Jack Sparrow Vinylmation the cutest? I love it!

I love that there is a geyser at WL! It's such a great hotel! :thumbsup2

Hooray for the geyser! That's so cool... and PHEW thank goodness ya didn't lose your head over that one.

YAY! So glad you got Captain Jack! Hahaha look at his little beard brades.

OH MY YUM. That cupcake looks amazing!!!!

I love the geyser! It's so cool that there is a GEYSER in Disney World!

I love the Swedish Chef! So much that I want to search for that Vinyl on Ebay, but I bet if I find it, it will be like $500!

I noticed his little beard braids too, they are so cute! :cool2:

Fun update, Jen. Although I don't care for the Vinylmation store, I agree with you on teh Christmas Store--it is my favorite, and I love the ornaments you picked out.

That cupcake has me drooling as I wait for Mark to finish grilling our chicken dinner outside. :worship::worship::worship:

Thanks! The Christmas store is the best store in Disney World! Christmas and Disney, nothing better! :thumbsup2

Haha, I know, I can't even look at pictures of that cupcake, I want one sooo bad!

The cupcake does look amazing! I am glad it tasted good as well! Sounds like you had a low-key day, which is wonderful... can't wait to hear about the fun @ MNSSHP!

Doesn't it! It was really good! We had a great day, and I loved this MNSSHP much more than the first one! :cool1:

We need to do a joint WDW trip please, Tim LOVES the orange side of Mission Space and my stomach cannot take it :headache: So you can be his buddy :rotfl:

YAY for Jack Sparrow Vinylmation :thumbsup2 I love when that works out!!

OH my gosh that cupcake looks so amazing!! sign me up for that!!
I remember that Samantha Brown epsiode at WL...too funny!! I used to love her Disney specials!!

Haha, no problem! I love the orange side of Mission Space! :cool1:

I was so happy when I opened that box and got Jack Sparrow! Especially since I was trying all week for Buzz and would never get him!

I love Samantha Brown, I have most of her Disney shows on my DVR, but I miss Great Hotels! I wish it would come back on!

My whole family was drooling at your cupcake. We are always looking for a specialty cupcake store wherever we go. The view was awesome too!

That was an amazing cupcake! There are lots of awesome cupcakes at Disney World! :cool1: Thank you, I was really happy with the view at WL, it's a beautiful resort!

MyFitnessPal, eh? I will definitely look into it, thanks! :goodvibes I have an app for my phone called "Lose It" which sounds almost like the same thing, but I haven't used it in a long time! I've been trying to do weight watchers, but I'm not sure I like it now that they have changed the points system. :sad2: I like the old way better, where they took calories into account, now they don't and that's just weird to me.

Wow, I'm impressed with your gym dedication...45 minutes on the elliptical, that's amazing! :worship: I can do maybe 20 minutes if I'm lucky, I'm SO out of shape! I really have to find my motivation, because when I'm motivated, I can lose weight but I don't know what my problem has been lately. It's just so hard to get started.

Haha, well, I don't have 12 weeks til my trip anymore, Saturday will be 6 weeks! If I can start like, tomorrow, eating good and exercising, MAYBE I can still lose 20, if I'm really focused and motivated!

Whew.. I was pretty far behind, but all caught up now!

Ben and I tried the boring (is that the green?) side of Mission:Space on our last trip and it is SO lame! I don't know why anyone would ride that... if you can't do orange, save your time!

That S'Mores cupcake looks amazing!!

'Ohana means Noodles...and Bread Pudding

Thursday 10/6

Once I realized I couldn't sleep, I decided to take my time and get ready for our night. We had an early ADR at 'Ohana, which I couldn't wait for, and then our second Halloween party, which again, I couldn't wait for! If you remember from the beginning of the TR, the first party we went to was sold out and it was ridiculously crowded, so I was hoping for a better experience the second time around!

I woke Brandon, he got ready, and we took the boat over to the Magic Kingdom, where we then hopped the monorail to get to the Poly! :lovestruc

P1000923.jpg

Don't you just love that you can get to your dinner reservation via monorail in Disney? Where else in the world can you do that? I'm not going to lie...one of the reasons I went with the Cali Grill ADR in May is because I was looking forward to walking through Epcot from the Beach Club and monorailing over to the Contemporary for dinner. It's the simple things, you know? :)

Aloha, we're here!!

P1000924.jpg

You all know how much I love the Poly, right? It's probably my ultimate dream resort. I came SO close to booking it for our anniversary trip, but it's SO much more expensive than the Beach Club, I just couldn't do it, but SOMEDAY. Someday I will stay there.

P1000927.jpg

I mean, look at this view!

P1000929.jpg

This POOL!

P1000934.jpg

This Disney bunny! Ahhhhh, Disney bunnies!! :lovestruc Not all resorts have Disney bunnies just hanging out on the sidewalks! (Again, the simple things! If only I could learn to appreciate the simple things in life like I do in Disney, life would be so much more enjoyable, know what I mean? :))

Anyway. It was getting close to our 'Ohana ADR time, and I wanted to check in as early as possible, so we made our way upstairs. We checked in and got our little buzzer and went over to the bar, where we actually found some stools and sat down. I was all set to order a drink when our buzzer went off, yay!

We were seated and our server came right over to get us some drinks...she also said the salad would be right out, and we told her not to bother bringing it to our table. Brandon and I are just not salad people. We didn't think we should waste it when there was so much other food that needed to be eaten.

I considered getting a lapu lapu again, like I did the year before, but I got this instead:

P1000944.jpg

I have no idea what it is, but it was STRONG! Either that, or I have such a low tolerance for alcohol now that it just seemed really strong, but, to quote Legolas, "I think it's affecting me."

Once we got our drinks, tons of food just started piling up on our table...noodles, bread, wings, various dipping sauces...OMG it was wonderful!

P1000943.jpg

I absolutely LOVE those noodles! :lovestruc I swear, I could go to 'Ohana and just eat the noodles and bread pudding and happily pay $50 and call it a night. Everything else is just a bonus, if you ask me! I like the grilled meats, who doesn't, you kind of have to to go to 'Ohana, but...those noodles are the best!

And the dessert! I had been dreaming about this dessert since November of 2010!

P1000945.jpg

Look at that perfection! The year before, when Brandon and I first experienced 'Ohana (because let's face it, 'Ohana is an experience, it's not just dinner!), we practically fought each other over that bread pudding. This year, I told him we were getting 2 servings of it, but of course, this year he decided he didn't like it that much. :confused3 However, that meant most of it was left for me. And I didn't waste a morsel of it. It is absolutely the BEST dessert at Disney that I've had yet.

Once I finished the most perfect dessert in the world, we were off to the Magic Kingdom, by monorail, of course!

P1000951.jpg

When we entered, I was happy to see that it seemed much less crowded than the previous Halloween party! I wanted to meet Jack Sparrow at the first Halloween Party, but the line was too long, so I went straight to Adventureland first thing to check the line for him...

P1000953.jpg

yeah, still wayyy too long. I just can't spend all my time in line to meet a character, you know? And to be honest, I was just a little bit relieved it was that long, I mean, what would I say to Captain Jack Sparrow? :rotfl:

(And random thought here, but does seeing that Adventureland sign make anyone else want to burst into tears and wish they were back in Disney World right now? Some things just really, really get to me, and that sign is one of them! :sad1:)

Since we weren't going to wait, we decided to go over to Fantasyland, and on the way over, I saw the Photopass photographer doing a hitchhiking ghost picture! I always thought these pictures were so cute, so we got in the very short line to get our pics taken with hitchhiking ghosts!

Photo0074FourBySix.jpg

I love this picture! The look on Brandon's face is sooooo ridiculous! :rotfl: I couldn't believe the line was so short either, there were I think 2 people in front of us, why is it not more popular, it's so cute!

Why we skipped the Haunted Mansion when we were right there, I don't know, I'm guessing the line was too long, so we went all the way to Winnie the Pooh! I guess Winnie the Pooh isn't exactly the kind of attraction people want to do at a Halloween party, because the wait was only 10 minutes! We both love this ride, so of course, we went on, but first, I had to be 5 really quickly:

P1000955.jpg

:rotfl: I tried to get a picture like that in 2008, but there were 2 little girls playing in the house, and they asked me to move! This time, for some reason, there were no kids around, so I jumped at the opportunity! I don't really like pictures of myself, but I was happy I got a picture in Pooh's house!

Up next...more MNSSHP!

Oh, my dear I am woefully behind. I'm fixing that now though.

Okay, I just about died when I saw Brandon's face in the Hitchhiking Ghosts photo! Gotta love it when guys do that kind of stuff.

Oh, and I wanted to tell you a little secret. In case you didn't know. Ready? You can buy Laila at certain department stores. That's right. ;) I've seen it at Nordstrom before.
