It's bad enough they don't make anything larger than an XXXXXXXXXXXS, but now they need to rub it in people's face who can't shop there?

Wow...............that's really something. Wearing that would be like walking around advertising - "Hi, I'm a real condescending, snotty b*****." Why in the world would you want to walk around having everyone who sees you think you're arrogant witch? Who buys these things???

To each his/her own!

This is not the ONLY store that sells t-shirts similar to this......

what about the ones that were on the news last week?

"I had a nightmare I was a brunette"
"who needs brains when you have these?"

soooooooooo degrading. love their jeans though. (of course - my butt is too fat for them now)

I wasn't aware that they only sold small sizes in there. Now, I usually shop at their outlet and they have plenty of sizes like 9's and 11's. Granted, they don't carry plus sizes, but they aren't just for teeny-tiny people either.

They have an outlet? Where? My kids love A&F.

Potomac Mills in Virginia. I go there every Friday night because there are no crowds. I will only let my DD buy from the outlet because the regular store is sooooo expensive. We get most of the A&F T-shirts (like the one shown in the OP) for $6.90. My DD got some $70.00 jeans for $39.00.

their clothes come in even numbers (2/4/6) not odds...it's "misses" sizing...not junior sizing (odd numbers). except for the ezra fitch line that is by waist size (25/26/...31)

the clothes are cut VERY slim...a Large there is not the same as a large at, say, Gap. Plus - the vanity sizing there is horrible...I'm a basic size 8...however I own size 4 pants from AF.

The founder/owner/CEO whatever of AF disgusts me...I read something that his clothes are only for "pretty, thin" people...he flat out state he doesn't make clothes for "chunky" people.

They don't. They sell sizes to fit smaller juniors to average adult. I think they go to about size 14 in misses, and start at size 2.

While I don't think the shirt is in good taste, I defend anyone's right to wear it.

Which is stupid too, because does he think that us "chunky" people, don't have money, or don't buy clothes? :confused3

And just because I'm not a size 0, that doesn't mean I'm not pretty Mr. CEO man!

Oh my...

Well, I guess that's why the clothes fit my DD so well--she's pretty thin. She wears their size 0; however, she does wear the 0 jeans from all other stores (Hang Ten, Hollister, and American Eagles). She does take a size 1 in Target Mossimo jeans but would like it if they made a 0.

Talk about vanity sizing--I've gained weight yet this year I'm wearing a size 6 and Docker's and Ann Taylor. For most of my life I was a 10, gradually got down to an 8, and now I'm a 6.

I used to be a huge A&F fan...till they made those thongs marketed to the 10-12 year old set with words like "tasty" on them (this was probably 5 years ago). I have been in the store since then, but they haven't seen a dime of my money.

Their sizing is crazy. All my shirts from there are medium or large (which back then I was usually an XS). When I still shopped there, I never did get big enough for any of their pants. The 0 was about 4 sizes too big, and I wore bigger than a 0 from everywhere else. Annoying.

While his attitude about it is certainly a little offensive, I don't really think there's anything wrong with certain stores catering to certain body types or tastes. There are plus size stores that don't carry clothing for smaller women and Big & Tall stores for men that shorter, smaller men could never buy anything at...

The whole store turns me off, even if I WAS a size 2 I wouldn't shop there! :sad2:

I wouldn't have a whole lot of respect for anybody who would wear shirts like that.

Did any of you see the "girlcott" of AF on the Early Show last week? I was quite proud of those girls! The media did present a bit of a skewed view of the whole thing though. They went around interviewing people, showing them examples of the shirts. Most of the average or plain looking people were disgusted by the sayings, but then they showed two very pretty girls who thought the shirts were okay. No message there.

I will say that the store has a very nice "smell." I'm trying to figure what the scent is that they are piping in. Bergomet? Hollister also smells that way.

and that is the primary reason i do not shop there (now that i can!). af has branded themselves as something that i find to be incredibly offensive.

I always just figured it was their own, somewhat overpowering, perfume. :confused3
