We paid our other trip entirely with our credit card so we never did the deposit/pay by the month thing.
If we do that this next time we put 200 down right? And then we have until a month before to pay it off is that right?
Also, does it matter how you pay it off. I mean can we pay 300 one month from a direct bank draft and then pay 40 the next with a credit card. Is there a set payment and does it have to be all credit card or all actual checks or what? Do you pay online or send a payment? I have no idea about this stuff we usually pay everything off all at once when we do vacations but since this next trip is going to be over our credit card's current limit after the damage of our last trip (YIKES! ) we cannot throw it all on the credit card.

I just booked my first pkg ( I usually book room only and do everything individuallly) As far as I know, you put $200 down for a deposit. The remaining balance is due 45 days before your arrival. I'd imagine you could pay in increments and I know you can do it through the disneyworld website or with the envelopes they enclose with your reservations... Have fun! :)

I'm a little confused. I booked over the phone with Disney and was told that although my Deposit was due 45 days in advance, my balance was not due untill I checked in. The only thing I could think of that's different is that I didn't book a package.

It doesn't matter how you pay it off. You actually don't even need to make monthly payments. You can book your package, put down the $200 deposit and then just pay off the whole thing in one lump sum at 45 days out if you wish! We are paying on TWO trips right now and we don't pay on both of them each month. DH is in sales so when he gets a larger than usual pay check - we through a lump on one or both of the trips. We've made as many as two payments on each during a month but we have also gone at least 3 months without paying any more than the deposit.

Hope that helps! Enjoy your trip!!!!

As far as I know, the packages have to be paid in full 45 days prior to arrival. If you don't have a package but a room only, generally you have to pay one night's lodging within 14 days? I think from when you made the reservation. The balance would be due upon arrival. We've always booked ONLY a room and never a pkg and all that was required of us in the past was paying for the one night to hold the reservation and then we'd pay the balance one we checked in. The pkg. thing is new to us but we couldn't resist the free dining-it saved us more than the AAA room discount would have!

Room only ressies must be paid off at check in. A package deal with tickets and/or dining must be paid off 45 days in advance of arrival. Maggie

We've bought packages through Dreams Unlimited twice and they book through WD Travel and the only thing I'd add is that they note that interim payments must be a minimum of $100. If you get the balance below $100 obviously the last payment can be less than $100!!
