One more question: can I use my old BC refillable mugs at BWV?

What is the rule now?

If I do decide to buy BWV mugs, can I use it next time?

Thanks

I made a point to check on this the last time I purchased refillable mugs. This was at OKW, and the information was very clear, that they were to be used only at OKW for the length of that visit.

There have been posts on other boards about this, and sometimes CM's are lenient about allowing people to reuse them on subsequent trips, and even at other resorts, but I think that they are only intended to be used for the length of that particular visit, at the resort you purchase the refillable mug.

Someone recently posted that the BW Bakery was only refilling BW mugs for free and charging (I think $.79 or may be $.89???) for refilling other mugs. Can't remember exactly, but I do remember they were not refilling non-BW mugs for free. Maybe you can find the post after the Search Feature comes back. I really miss it!

At the BW, the BW-themed refillable mug has been reusuable from trip to trip. In fact, the mug design is unchanged over the past two years (at least). We have never been told that the free refills are limited to a single length of stay. On the other hand, the BW Bakery does refill non-BW mugs for a discounted charge (which i also forget whether it is 79 or 89 cents). I believe they will need to tag the mugs with some kind of purchase date informationin order to implement a single length of stay rule if the design remains the same over a long period of time .

At VB, the refillable mug program has been length of stay and we have purchased a new mug each of the last three years. This year's mug (purchased during the first week of January) is a generic Disney design while the last two year's designs had a seasonal winter theme (and were different in 2001 and 2002).

Another related question.

2 years ago, I know we could use our BC refillable mugs at Cape May Cafe while having dinner there.

If we buy BWV refillable mugs, can we use them at Flying Fish and all the other restaurants on the Boardwalk?

Thanks

The BWV mugs are only refillable at the Boardwalk Bakery and the Luna pool bar.

Actually, I think you can also get refills at the coffee cart on the BW. I didn't try the BelleVue Room either, but breakfast foods and coffee are now available there in the mornings so you may be able to refill a BW mug there as well.

Sorry, but the coffee cart is not a WDW enterprise, and is a separate vendor. They do not honor the refillable mugs. It is my understanding that the Belle Vue Room discontinued serving food and beverage this past year. At least it was not available this past December. Does anyone have any recent experience there?

I used the BW refillable mug a month ago at the Belle View room. They also served breakfast.

I filled my mug with coffee every morning at the Belle Vue. I used this trip down our l-o-n-g hallway as my "wake up ritual" every morning. :)

Just back from BWV.

Staff at Boardwalk Bakery told me mug could be used at bakery, Seashore Sweets, Belle Vue in the morning, Boardwalk Joe's at night, pool, and pizza window (don't remember name).

I personally used mug at bakery, candy store (great cocoa), Belle Vue in the morning, and pool.

By the way, I felt funny not tipping bartender at pool but I had no cash on me as I left the room with just two mugs to get a quick drink. We're not supposed to tip on free drinks, are we? I just felt a little awkward.

PS Just before I left for this trip, I called BW front desk and they told me refillable mugs could only be used at bakery and pool.

Thanks everyone.

We will be at BWV in a week and I will buy the mugs and see if I can get the refills at all these places.

If the mugs are for length of stay, do they have a sticker or something?

No - at least not yet. :D

Deb Willis site says something to the effect that using a mug beyond length of stay is "at the resorts discretion." Which seems to be accurate as it appears to vary from resort to resort and even from trip to trip at the same resort.

We were at BWV during the first week of January this year. I refilled my mug at the coffee cart (is that BoardWalk Joe's?) one evening, at the pool many times, and at the BW Bakery. I did not actually use my mug at the BelleVue Room, but they have definitely resumed breakfast service there and I saw people refilling mugs there. I believe my DD refilled her mug at the Spoodles pizza window as well.
