One Month Left: Anyone else under 30 days?

Only 17 days away now and I am getting to excited to sleep. I keep thanking God every night for this blessing! We prayed really hard about thiw trip and everything we wanted to do we are getting to do. We are staying exactly where we prayed about getting to stay. This trip is going to be amazing! I finished our trip shirts Sunday and they look so cool! 7 more days and its time for online check-in. Yeah buddy!

I noticed most of this thread is now around 2 weeks out:cool1::cool1::cool1: I have a question for everyone...what is left on your "to do" list before you leave-I keep going over mine but haven't knocked everything out yet:confused3

I have a few things left to do, but I have 25 days left.
1. clean the house (we have a dog/house sitter)
2. finish packing (just last minute personal stuff)
3. make green mickey ears for door
4. make hair cut appointments, etc.
5. get some money changed over
6. KEEP BUSY

OH NO:

My mom just got a call from Amtrak, and they have canceled our train on Sunday! I'm on hold with them to try to find out more information, but looks like now we have to scramble last minute to figure out what we're going to do!

My mom doesn't fly, so that's not an option. We did NOT want to have to do the long drive.

Nothing like scrambling 3 days before leaving to figure out what we're going to do... :confused3 :confused3

(On a side note...this has been a bad luck year for things like this for me...we took a cruise in December, and found out when we got to the cruise terminal that our cruise was delayed a day).

Fingers crossed that we can figure this out!

I can do online checking starting today!!! I'm bummed though, I can't get on the Disney website because my work has it blocked.....but, not the Dis thank goodness!

1 more day and we are there...well actually less than 24 hours now..:thumbsup2 providing our flight doesn't get canceled or delayed due to Irene :headache:

We actually started the one month dance yesterday but was too busy to post. This month is going to pass so slowly but it's almost here.

:cool1::cool1::dance3::cheer2::cheer2:

AGH!! Ok no panicing. We can figure this out. Let me think a while on this. Did they say why they cancelled? Is it Irene's fault?

Yup - they canceled the Autotrain Friday through Sunday due to the weather...in my personal opinion, that's being overly cautious, but I can't do anything about that.
Even if the hurricane blows over or something, they won't un-cancel the trains.

Obviously the only logic option we have is to just drive down. Unfortunately there are still some concerns with driving, which had led to our decisions to take the train in the first place. A big concern is my parents aren't sure they can handle a 15 hour drive in 1 day, and we can't take an extra day due to schedules (and the hurricane).

There is also the option of rescheduling, which is also easier said than done...it is very difficult for my husband to schedule vacation time at work, and once it's scheduled, you DON'T want to have to make changes to it.

My dad is hoping to take off the rest of the afternoon, and discuss our options with my mom. I'll keep you all posted!

Hope no one else has to deal with unfortunate consequences of Irene.

Absolutely its overly cautious. So, are they not running at all those 2 days in that direction? Will they not even take you half way and then you could rent a car or vice versa?

Yup, all 3 days they've flat out canceled the autotrain.

Just checked their website - they've actually canceled all trains traveling south of Washington DC.

Geez...

So sorry to hear about this. But I'm sure you'll figure some thing out. I know 15 hours of driving is a lot and hard on the body. But, is there some way the drive could be broken up in to two 71/2 hour days? Just trying to think of some options for you. Probably ones you've already thought of.
I can appreciate where you are coming from for cancelling or trying to reschedule a few days. Most work places it's impossible.
Keep us posted. We feel your pain and anguish.
