One Mom and Three Kids Tackle the World in a Week - Dec '09 Trip Report - Complete :)

I'm here, I'm here! :goodvibes The last week is a blur. I cannot believe I haven't updated yet. I have not abandoned my TR, I promise it will be finished. The next installment will be posted sometime this week. Tomorrow the girls are getting their braces so not then but this week for sure. Michael's adoption will be on Wednesday so it's going to be such a busy week. But it'll be updated. I'm also going through some real life "stuff" that's sort of getting me down. Each night last week I was ready for bed at 7pm, I swear. I need a nice long vacation but that's not happening anytime soon. Sad. :sad2: But I thank you for sticking with me friends.

Sounds like a very big week for you guys. I wish the girls the best with their braces. Lets us know how they are feeling when it's all over. The adoption will be on my mind and in my prayers Wednesday.

Let us know how we can help you get back 'up'! :thumbsup2 Life just kicks us around sometimes - sometimes for short periods and sometimes for long periods. Just try to have the best attitude you can in all situations and hang out with people who can help you feel good about things. Treat yourself to some little fun things along the way, since you know it'll be a while until you have a long break.

Hope things slow down for you soon Kelli! Good luck to your girls tomorrow, and to your whole family on Wednesday

Talk about showing up late for the party. I found your TR and have read the whole thing so far and can't wait for more.

The Stacy TV cracks me up, we were there the week before you and I think my girls quoted Stacy for weeks after the trip

Don't worry about it! It is busy for everyone in the spring I think. Seems like there is something going on constantly. I hope things start to settle down for you and whatever is causing you grief is fixed. I'll say a special prayer for some peaceful, relaxing days ahead for you.

I hope things slow down for you soon! Sorry things are so crazy. I hope your girls are feeling okay after getting their braces. I'll be thinking about you guys on Wednesday!

Glad to hear the girls did OK at the orthadontist. Life gets in the way of things sometimes, don't worry about it.
I had to pop down to Florida last week due to my mom's illness, so I know how other things mess you up!

Hang in there! You're doing great things for your kids! Congrats on the adoption too!!! :thumbsup2
I haven't updated my TR in FOREVER!!! I just posted a big old apology. I really want to do it, but frankly, it's not as fun as it was when I first started! I have to get my TR mojo going again!

Thank you!! I hope to get that mojo back tomorrow. :thumbsup2

Aw MeMom, you are just such a kind person. Thank you. :goodvibes

Good luck with the braces! :teeth: :teeth:

Still around. Take your time. Seems like many of us have a lot stuff going on right now!

It seems that way, doesn't it? Thanks Jordan.

I agree, lots of stuff going on in the spring. Thank you for the prayer. It really helps to know others out there understand and care. :grouphug:

Life gets in the way of the best plans sometimes, doesn't it? I hope your mom is okay.

Hoping everything went wonderfully well for you guys today. :)

MeMom, thank you for remembering. It all went fabulously and I will even post a picture of the adoption tomorrow for you all.

I’m back with another installment folks!! Finally, three weeks later. ;) Sorry about that. When we last left off, we had completed a wonderful day in Epcot. Our last official park day was here. Sad! The date was Friday, December 11th 2009 and we would be spending time in Magic Kingdom and then Downtown Disney. Our tradition is to always start a vacation with Magic Kingdom and end the vacation with Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom just is the heart of Disney World to us so it only seems right to begin and finish there. :goodvibes

Like all other days, we got up bright and early. Rope drop would be our plan, yet again. I was doubtful while planning but getting there early at RD allows you to get so much accomplished, easily. The kids and I sort of grazed on all of the leftover odds and ends for breakfast we had brought with us. I wanted to finish up most of it so I wouldn’t have to pack it twice. I called my sister’s cell and she and Jayse met up with us on the way to the South Point bus stop. The weather was very chilly this morning and pretty dark. It was a tough morning to get going. BUT it was our last day so we were going to have a good time no matter what! I’m glad I packed a pair of light gloves for each of us. We would need them that day for sure. Brrr.

Magic Kingdom had hula hoops out so the kids took full advantage of those!

We didn’t wait long before some of our favorite friends came out to welcome us.

Since we hadn’t yet been to Tomorrowland, that is where we would spend our morning. The mad dash was made to Space Mountain but not by us folks. This morning we took our time, strolling along and soaking up the atmosphere. It was our last day and I wanted to soak it all up! I was able to walk right up to the Space Mountain Fastpass machines and get a set for later. I wanted no part of standing in that line. I figured we could do a bunch of other things until it was time to use the FPs.

We first decided to cruise around the Indy Speedway. Wow folks! These things really get moving, don’t they?! Hilarious. I knew they were slow but wow, they were moving at a snail’s pace. Dimitri and I laughed the whole way through the ride. Poor Mykenah had issues with her car and got stuck like twice along the way before puttering to the finish line. The kids deemed it “not so fun” but we were glad we took the spin. Now we can say we have done it. I thought we would try the Astro Orbiter next.

Disney2009457.jpg

The kids thought it was really cool to go up in a real elevator. The ride was really chilly but the view is amazing. I wish I lived up there and could see that view every day of the week.

We rode back down with a choir group and they were a hoot. They were singing and were so happy to be there. What nice kids. They really made me smile. :)

Mykenah needed to make a quick phone call so we stopped for that and some hot chocolate.

Disney2009458.jpg

It was nippy and we needed a quick warm up before going to defeat Zurg. With that in our tummies, we headed over to Buzz. There was no wait time at all.

Disney2009460.jpg

I have to admit that I did not do so hot on Buzz compared to TSM. That’s an easier ride to score at. Buzz and the light laser lights are sometimes hard to find and aim with. Oh well, it was super fun!! You can see how concentrated we are here. Poor Dimitri’s head barely makes it over the shooter.
Disney2009461.jpg

Disney2009462.jpg

And look who captured my kids?!?! Their expressions slay me. Dimitri is apparently happy to be captured!
Disney2009463.jpg

Our FP time for Space Mountain was not up yet so I thought we’d wander over in the direction of ToonTown. It wasn’t quite 10am yet and we didn’t really want to wait for that rope drop so we hopped in some of our favorite teacups for a quick spin. Once again, we walked right on with no wait. I was loving this TGM green park plan!! I’d highly recommend his website.

My sister wasn’t up to riding and we weren’t sure if she could pregnant so she passed to stay out and take pictures while Jayse rode with us. We all fit into one cup. The kids were mean to me!! I get motion sickness as you all know and those little buggers were spinning that cup as fast as it could go. Thank goodness for Dramamine!

Ok, time to head on over to Toontown, which was pretty much a ghost town. LOL! There were very few people out on this chilly Friday morning.

We all knew what would be first. It’s a family favorite!

My sister made the walk up with us, even though we knew she couldn’t ride. The cars are so tiny someone had to ride alone so Mykenah volunteered, the lovely girl that she is. Here we are before our crazy little ride!

Boy is that ride fun! We enjoyed it so much we went on two more times, right in a row!! It was so quick but we just ate it up. My sister enjoyed her little break and took some snapshots of Toontown while waiting for us. After three times we thought that was enough for awhile and headed over to check out two really cute houses. Minnie must have known we were coming and had everything so cute and tidy for our visit.

Here is my clan before going inside. As you see, Kenah is still rocking the pink hair from Wednesday. She didn’t take it out until the day we went home. She loved that special do!

(My sister and Dimitri checked her messages. Cute stuff)

I adored the kitchen!! Isn’t that a hoot?

Her gazebo is extra cute!

Time to stroll over to the main mouse’s house; Mickey himself!
I’d love this mailbox for my own home. :)

Decorated so festively for Christmas-

The inside of his house is really cute.

Disney2009490.jpg

Unfortunately, Mickey wasn’t quite as tidy as Minnie. He must not have known we were coming I suppose.
Disney2009494.jpg

After checking out his house, we swung over to Donald’s boat. I was very clear to the kids that if they got wet, they WOULD be cold. They like to live on the edge so they thought they would swing above the water and see if they could avoid it. Silly kids.

Around that time, our FP time for SM was up. Yay!! Unfortunately, Jayse didn’t make the height restriction. He was a little more than upset. Poor kid. My sister waved us on though and I think they went to find a treat instead. We had a very un-Disney experience inside. When I think back to it, it gives me a stomachache. We went through the Fastpass line and were moving along, just as instructed. The queue was full so we did as the CM told us and moved up as far to the wall as we could before being herded into line. Well, this man, along with another man and two older boys started yelling at me. He said something like “The guy told you to move ahead but not cut in front of us duh!” I sort of turned around and said something like “We’re just doing what he told us to do. But you can certainly go right ahead of us.” He did of course and made a big production of it, calling us line budgers all the while texting or something on his BlackBerry phone. Oh yes, that’s exactly what we are. We filled up empty space as asked and had this man come down and make a scene. I was embarrassed and actually started crying a little. :sad1: It had been a long week. The kids and I had been having such a fun time. I didn’t need some jerk like that ruining our magic on the last day of our trip. I finally calmed myself internally and just shrugged it off. It still gets me though. Why be so rude? The ride on Space was fun. It’s not my favorite thrill ride by any means though. I guess I like to see where I’m going. I kept feeling like I was going to hit my head on something.

Disney2009500.jpg

Morghan stuck on an old pair of ears that we have had for a long time. She was living it up, loving being there! Look at that smile of happiness.
Disney2009501.jpg

Well, we needed lunch by then. I needed a break and wanted to just sit down for awhile. We met back up with my sister and went to Cosmic Ray’s again. LOL! To eat there twice certainly was not that original plan but it worked. We all got burgers (love the fixings bar!) and sat down together for a long while, going over all the fun of the past week. We had been having so much fun and were all regretting the time was coming to leave. We missed home and our families but there is just something about Disney World. The magic, it draws you in. It gets inside your heart and head. You feel at peace, you feel at home. Your troubles float away, the place is a dream. After a bathroom break, we decided to head back out into Tomorrowland and enjoy the rest of our afternoon.

What fun would we have that afternoon? What new rides would we experience? How did Pop Warner cheerleaders affect us? All coming up in the next installment, which will be sooner than later this go around. I promise!

Great update, very cute pictures! :goodvibes

Sounds like a very nice morning at MK. Well, except for the jerk at Space Mtn. :sad2: Sorry you had to experience that. We always run into one (or 2) on each trip unfortunately.

We have never been on Astro Orbiter. We are definitely going to do that next time! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the rest of your report. . . popcorn::

Ok, I thought I would put up a adoption picture for you but silly me, I brought the wrong cord to work with me. Oops! An Ipod cord will not fit in the camera. Sorry!! I'll get them on from home this weekend. :goodvibes
