One Man's Dream

Is the Backlot Tour coming back? How about the AFI Museum? American Idol? Animation Academy? Disney has left everyone hanging by not making any major announcement about what is coming next, probably because they don't want people delaying their trip until the "next big thing" is completed. But amongst the radio silence, there have been numerous permanent closures in preparation for what we all know (but Disney won't say) is coming. I hope they find a new home for Walt's Dream. But it won't be in Pixar Place.

I really hope they find a new home for OMD too. That needs to be a part of WDW. Such a great film and exhibit.

The Backlot Tour no because that's not the way movies are made anymore. The items from the AFI Museum have been removed from display but could end up somewhere else. They weren't thrown out. American Idol is gone but so will be the show after next season so time for something newer. Animation Academy - again, not closed yet but that's not how things are ding done these days.

Yes, the Studios needs an update and needs it badly and I agree things will get worse before better but that takes time. It's kind of like saying that you bought a piece of property and you want a great house on it but you want that house done correctly and perfectly but you want it done now. But, you need to wait to make sure it's done correctly and properly. I had to laugh when my former boss was having her dream house built. She went there every single day on her lunch break and had at least a dozen things she had to correct. She came back one day and was freaking out because the drawer pulls were not what she wanted. She left early that day to get the correct pulls. I thought, "just let the ones stay there that they put in" but, well, Disney doesn't think like I do and I'm glad.

Animation Academy is closing July 12th.

I've also heard that Disney Quest is going to close for an "NBA Experience." I've never been there before, but it always looked pretty neat to me. The prices are insane though. I think closing One Man's Dream would be a disappointment in many ways. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Matter of fact, that'd be quite ironic, Disney closing a tribute to Walt Disney. Whatever happens, I don't think Walt himself would be upset at the closing since he lives on in the entire park. After all, everything is a tribute to him. That being said, I'd still love to see it stay. It's something different. I guess as the old saying goes, what will be will be.

There has been talk that Animation Academy may getting upgraded to the lap desks (I think) that they have at DLR. That could be good and add capacity. I am glad that we got to do it, One Man's Dream, and Backlot Tour before they close/closed. They really need to start showing some love at DHS and Epcot. I am hoping that the love at DHS comes in the form of a warm, soft Wookie:chewy:

I would like to see One Man's Dream move either to Epcot. (Which sorely needs attractions in FW) or Main Street in MK. So glad I decided to check it out a couple weeks ago though in case it is gone for good.
i really like your idea of moving it to MK I feel the spirit of Walt in MK. More than any other park. Danny

Touring plans is reporting this as well. I'll wait til Disney makes an announcement..well, if they make an annoucement at all...but the touring plans article didn't sound like this was a temporary refurb.
Disney doesn't announce this stuff. The only reason we know is because cast members found out the past couple of days when their schedules were posted.
