Welcome to my PTR!

My name is Melissa and I am so excited we just booked another trip! We're going back...we're really going back!

Michael is almost 14 (good grief, where did the time go?):

and Elsa is 11 and quite the young lady:

We have had the pleasure of having two foster brothers in our care for the past 15 months. E is 32 months and C is 18 months. Their brother N was born 2 weeks ago. (ultrasound said he was a girl...more on that later). We plan to adopt all three and this is our last hurrah trip as a family of 3. :goodvibes We love these boys like family and will be thrilled when they officially become part of our family.

Thanks for joining us and I promise many more photos are to come!

Hello ladytink75 (am I right to assume the "75" in your user id stands for the year you were born...if so we have age in common too!)

Glad to have you here!

Yes "75" in my username is the year I was born.. WOW thats pretty :cool1: cool that we have so much in common from the ages of the kids to the year we were born...

We knew we would be taking one final just-the-three-of-us trip, and we are excited that it is now a reality!!!

OUR FOSTER CARE JOURNEY:

47993_425162615892_590345892_4912893_1046700_n.jpg

We started caring for E(aston) and C(hase) when they were 17 months and 3 months old. We had done respite before (caring for other foster care kids while the foster family goes on vacation or has an emergency etc...) but this was our first full-time placement. When they came into care we weren't sure how long they would be with us. It soon became clear that this would be more a permanent situation and we needed to make a decision of what we would do when their parent's rights were terminated.

For those who are unaware of how the foster care system works here is a brief synopsis: Children can be removed from their parents for a variety of reasons and once they are placed into foster care the biological parents have 15 months to show they are able and willing to have the kids returned to them. The hope and goal is always to return the kids but unfortunately that occasionally does not happen.

8 months after the boys came into care we made the decision that if they are freed for adoption we, as a family, would adopt them. I informed the county of our decision and 2 days later we found out that mom was pregnant with #3. :scared1:

After getting over the initial shock and many talks with Michael and Elsa, we all agreed that taking this third baby was the right decision for us. Being that they are all biological siblings, we saw the importance of keeping them together. We were tickled to find out that mom was having a baby girl!!! We spent the rest of her pregnancy collecting as much pink stuff, ribbons, bows, and frills that we could!

On April 10th 2011 we were excited to get the call that the baby was born!!!! Then the case worker said, "Wait...there is a surprise!" and I asked her if it was a boy (actually I shouted it) and she confirmed it indeed is a boy.

I spent the rest of that day shopping for something that a boy could wear. I only had one white hat that was gender neutral. :rotfl: It all worked out and we brought baby N(oah) home on April 13th! All 4 pounds 14 ounces of him!

So, now I am the very proud mom of 4 boys and one girl (who was slightly disappointed she will be the only one...hahahahahaha).

*update! We have successfully adopted all three boys!!!! :lovestruc Easton and Chase became a permanent part of our family on December 7th, 2011 with Noah following on June 27th, 2012!!!*

That is our story and with all the extra work the boys require, we are pretty excited to spend this last Mega Disney trip together!

WE HAVE A PLAN!!!

I already had a general idea of when I wanted to return and what we wanted to do. I even had dates in mind. On Thursday I was determined to make this trip a reality by booking it. First I headed over to the transportation boards to see if there were any good deals that could beat the Airtran tickets I have had my eye on.

I was tickled to see that JetBlue was having a one day 20% off every flight sale. JetBlue is our airline of choice, but their fares went up so much last year that I figured we wouldn't be riding it again. By altering our dates by only one day and applying the one day discount, we saved over $150 on our flights AND we get to ride JetBlue!!!!! :woohoo:

AND... by switching airlines we upped our arrival time from 7:55 at night to 9:45am giving us another half day at Magic Kingdom! We also delayed our departure on our final day by 5 hours so we can swim and relax!

Tuesday the 13th – Fly out at 7:10am and arrive in Orlando at 9:45am! Magic Kingdom till 7pm

Wednesday the 14th – Universal Studios 9am-6pm and IOA 9am-7pm SWIM

Thursday the 15th – Water Park and Boardwalk

Friday the 16th – EPCOT 9am-12am

Saturday the 17th – Animal Kingdom 9am-5pm SWIM

Sunday the 18th – Hollywood Studios 9am-9pm

Monday the 19th – Magic Kingdom 9am-9pm (possible breakfast in the castle)

Tuesday the 20th – Sleep in, SWIM, fly out at 5:10pm and arrive in WNY at 7:39pm

Pretty excited! :cool1:

Are you waiting on pins and needles to find out if Free Dining will be released like we are? :goodvibes

Glad to have you on board!

If the trip was for my own family (me, DH, and our 2 girls)... yes, I'd most definitely hope to take advantage of Free Dining! (We've done that twice)

My upcoming trip will be my first "adults-only" one... I'm going with my mom, sister, and sister's BFF, who has a condo/time-share so we'll be staying off-site.

This adults-only trip sounds like loads of fun! :thumbsup2
