BEST NEWS EVER!!!
So we went to court yesterday for the boys, and we all expected the same resistance from the bio parents. We were shocked, stunned, and flabbergasted when they agreed to sign off on all three boys. I sat in the court room and watched with conflicting emotions as mom and dad signed three sets of surrender papers.
So as of 1:30pm on July 19th, 2011, E, C, and N were freed for adoption...and as of 1:30pm on July 20th, 2011 a petition was filed on my behalf stating my intent to ADOPT THEM!
I am very relieved that we did not have to go to trial over this and that all that separates them from officially becoming a part of our family is a ton of paper work!
WE ARE SOOOOO HAPPY!
SLIGHTLY LESS EXCITING NEWS
We have been keeping an eye on an abandoned nest less than 2 feet from our laundry room window. It seemed that a mama birdie was sprucing it up and getting ready for her babies. On July 4th she laid her first egg and I was thrilled!
I was a little disappointed that she was a lazy bird and only popped out one egg...but much to my surprise on July 5th there was another egg!
...and another on the 6th!
We checked our little nest multiple times a day and knew to keep an extra special watch out at 14 days. On day 15 Bert bravely made his way into this world!
Paco, not to be out done by his brother, broke free from his shell a whole day early!
Aunt Jemimah joined her brothers today, and we are loving seeing this!
FUN, FUN, FUN NEWS
With the end of the Harry Potter movies came the opportunity to host an all day viewing of the first 6 movies! Michael and I were intending to watch HP7p1 in the theater preceding the HP7p2 12:01am showing, so we only needed to see 1-6. We decided to make it an extravaganza and had a BLAST!!
We started at 8am and finished them at 10:20pm. It was a wonderfully fun time!

It was a blast! That was on Wednesday. On Thursday Michael and I got to enjoy the movies in the theater.

BUMMER NEWS
While Michael and I were Harry Pottering it up, Elsa was away at camp having a blast! We picked her up on Saturday and she was so excited to see us, but she had a make-shift splint on her finger. I thought maybe this was a bit of a "look at me!!! I "hurt" my finger" kind of thing. So I made sure she was ok, but then I didn't really think about it until she went to get out of the van at home. She had unwrapped it and her hand was insanely swollen and her ring finger was crooked. We loaded right back up and took her to the urgent care.
They x-rayed it and were surprised that it wasn't broken. They gave her a real splint and sent us on our way, telling us to use it as tolerated. Fast forward to Tuesday when they call us and say "oops, it is broken after all. Please go to the Orthopaedic Surgeon tomorrow." Off we went today and we found out she broke it right on the growth plate

. It's not terribly serious, but has seriously altered her summer. They only buddy taped it to her pinky until we have it x-rayed again next week. Thankfully she can still swim, but soccer, trampolining, rough housing, and all that kind of stuff is a no-go.
X-rays are always cool:
DISNEY NEWS
I check twice a day and still, there are no openings for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. I guess we will just have to return later in life to do it!
