One hour limit @ 1900 Park Fare

We've never been told anything about a time limit there. I checked the time stamps on my pictures from the last time I ate there and it looks like we were there for about an hour and a half.

Same here. We have always been told that it takes about an hour for all the characters to come around. Sometimes they bring the check before we finish eating (in which case we continue eating at our current pace), sometimes they bring it right as we are finishing, and sometimes we have to wait for it. We are always at any table service an average of 1 1/2+ hours. Yes, some servers may make us feel rushed but we can get that feeling anywhere not just WDW. And in those cases, we do what we always do -- we take our time and enjoy our meal that we, the customer, are paying for. Don't get me wrong, though, if the server's behavior, attitude, or service is really bad then we communicate that with a manager and/or owner. And wedo the same if it is above and beyond the everyday average service. Sorry, the OP had such a bad experience. 1900 Park Fare is one of our favorite dinner restaurants.

I think the bottom line in all this is I wouldn't let this one rogue server make anyone change plans. There is not a policy change and you won't be forcibly removed from the restaurant when the clock strikes 60 min. Go, enjoy the meal and don't worry about anything else.

I find it bizarre to be told you have 1 chance and 1 chance only to see a character at a meal. I've never encountered that. At every meal we've ever done, including the ones this April, we were asked before the end of the meal if we got to see all characters. They had charts to mark off to confirm that any given table had met with all characters or if someone was still needed to stop at that table. So y'all are saying people did not do that during your meals? Heck, I admit most of the time we linger long enough that we get more than 1 visit with some characters.

I'm with the PP who said a comment like that would make me slow down and linger. I'd dare them to remove me before I was done.

I was thinking the same thing. We've always felt like we could stay as long as we wanted and have been asked many times by our server if we saw all the characters. We too have seen characters more than once ( 3-4 at garden grill). As a matter of fact we were one of the last tables left at H&V breakfast in November, and My kids were acting like it was their own personal party with the characters. When I went over and told them we needed to go, we were there long enough, our server told me take your time- stay for lunch too for all I care. If someone told me I had an hour limit at any place upon sitting, you better believe I'd slow it down. Bring me my check, that's fine, but I won't pay it until I'm DONE.
