here having dinner. Just sat downa dn was told by the wait staff there is a one (1) hour limit for dinner.
What?!!! Really!!!

Wow! With 2 little kids plus food allergies that would be tough

We went to dinner there in January and were never told that. We definitely took longer than an hour especially when we were waiting to see all the characters. Just relax, have fun and stay as long as you want :-)

We were not told that but we went end of June and I definitely felt more rushed than on past visits. And the step sisters were not there. A big disappointment. I asked for coffee with dessert and the waitress seemed put out. Then She brought it and walked away and didn't leave creamer. She stood a few feet away chatting with co workers and I couldn't catch her eye. I had to get up to ask for creamer. And since I have tiw card she made a big tip. I was annoyed. Same yesterday. Our last meal before we left at Hollywood and vine. We were crammed in a corner and rushed. My 4 yr old got sick after eating and we missed two characters while in the bathroom. We did get to see them but had to stand and wait 15 mins for them.

10 mins ago we just got served the bitthday cupcakes for my 2 year old. And by the way i juat finished my salad course.

Take your time!

I was also handed the bill before we finished our first plate.
Relax and enjoy yourself. And consider mentioning it to a manager.

We had breakfast there last month and in no way did I feel rushed the entire meal. We actually were finished with our entire meal before our server brought our check.

I would definitely say something to a manager. And if the manager confirms that is a new policy I would definitely voice my displeasure with them. That's ridiculous!

Well we got the check at the 60 min mark. Lol.
Spoke to two of the managers, they werent any help. Will prob send and email

1) Someone is pulling your leg, or just wants to go home early.
2) Disney does not limit times on dinners, except for pre-set serving times
. . . example: 7:00pm ad 9:00pm special dinner for Villains
. . . example: settings (serving times) for special events like New Year's Eve dinner
. . . example: show times for Hoop Dee Do Review or Luau
3) Park Fare is not in this realm.
4) If they try to force you out, ask for the Hotel GENERAL MANAGER (NOT the restaurant supervisor/manager) to be phoned.
5) The higher up-the-food-chain, the better the results.
. . . NO MANAGER wants the GENERAL MANAGER involved
. . . as they say ******** rolls downhill, and it picks up speed !
. . . this could be a serious injury to a restaurant manager's career path !

Wow, I'm going to keep my eye out for this. I have reservations in September and will definitely cancel if I think I'm going to be made uncomfortable. I may call and ask before I go if this is still the policy, also.

Thanks Rusty, I had a feeling there was no basis to this. I'd have to ask just what to they intend to do if we aren't finished by 1 hour if I were to encounter a power tripping CM.

You said the manager was no help but what did they say?

I hate to hear this. 1900 PF was one of our favorites, but we won't return if this is how things are going to be. Really hoping this won't be standard procedure at all WDW buffets.

Also, someone mentioned the stepsisters weren't there when they went. Was that just a rare exception? The Tremaines were the best thing going!

It is not normal for them to be missing but it's always possible. They are not guaranteed. No character is at any meal.

It sounded like it wasn't the norm , we were told when we were going in. The fairy godmother was there in place of them.

This is very disappointing. 1900 has always been a favorite of ours, breakfast and dinner. Agree with Rusty- escalate this up the chain of command.

According to the two managers "dinner takes an hour" but this was not what we were told by our waiter, infact i waited to hear if i had heard wrong(dh was livid when he heard it) and did hear him tell other tables that "dinner is an hour" and those other tables seemed to rush to eat because they cleared out before us, no mention of the word "takes" which changes the whole statement. Also we did not hear that same statement or mention of how long dinner was going to take from other wait staff at nearby tables.

At crystal palace they say that it takes about a hour for all the characters to come around, which gives a different feel to the experience.

Another statement was that the characters only come around once, if you missed them they wont be back.

Let me say i have been eating at 1900 for the 6+ years and never once had i heard this before.

I thought it was a new policy and didnt read it in the policy when making my adr.

Will try to reach out to the hotel gm tomorrow.
