The answer is: I was an Bama fan B.Z. (Before ZZUB). Due to the fact that our youngest son is nicknamed "Bama". That has nothing to do with football tho.

And, also, I was a Bama fan A.Z. (After ZZUB). And... a REAL one. I don't know why no one really believes Me(l). On that topic!!! Gee!!!


Plus... this whole thingie I just made up about dividing my life: B.Z. and A.Z. is REALLY REALLY CREEPY. DEE. To Me(l).

luv2crash ~ First of all: What is it you love to crash? If you were My General I'd say: Your car. But... I need to know. And... I DO... love me some Roll Tide!

Luv2crash is a name derived from the torture we put our children and friends through when we stick them behind the back of our boat on a tube! Just before take off Steve or myself always yell "remember-gotta luv 2 crash" and then they usually do!! Hard...ish. Except little Ashley. She's afraid to get behind the boat now unless we take Grandpa and let him drive her. Who does she think made her Daddy all twisted like he is?

Feeling so badly for Beth. For all the things she was starting to experience that I couldn't fix. For her. She's wired differently from the way Calvin is. He seems to handle things like I do. I worry, in different ways, about him. She seems to wear her heart on her sleeve. Tommy too. And... I worry about them. A lot. They are so sensitive.

If we could build a bubble around our children and protect them from the world we would...but we can't.

Take my little girl in my arms. Hold her tight. And kiss the top of her head.

And make her boo boo go away.

We wish we could make their lives perfect...but yet life just isn't...

What was WRONG?!


Maybe it was this: Maybe this WASN'T my happiest place on earth.

Maybe the Magic Kingdom wasn't as magical... as I had previously thought.

I took Tommy's hand.

And... we headed towards Frontierland and Splash Mountain.

I can't wait to hear about all of the special times you two shared together and all of the magic that you did have.

I am planning a mom and son trip this fall...I got the idea from this TR...way back in the weeee beeeeginnning.... Thanks for the inspiration and the realness that we, as mothers feel everyday!

I think this is so true, Mel. I'm sorry about your not so happy moments at the happiest place on earth.

Your family dynamic sounds much the same as mine.

My oldest is like me...not so much rides on the little things...glass half full and all.

My middle child...just the opposite and bless her heart...she's 13 now....so stir that attitude up with some hormones and there you have it. Sweet, loving and sensitive.

My youngest is a stubborn bundle of energy...hard to tell how he'll turn out.

So I kinda felt like I was standing there on Main Street with you this time around, Mel. Loved your words of advice to Beth. You're a wise mama.

Hope this day gets better and you and Tommy get to enjoy yourselves.
