Funny, when I turn on my phone and see that there is "no signal" I don't bother with trying to use Internet. I guess it's a common sense thing. confused3

But then again, we are adults (or at least sometimes). ;)

Let me explain it to you, mkay? Do you NOT think that being able to reserve FP+ on a phone will result in even more people using their phones on dark rides? You are kidding yourself if not.

Kids, along with a lot of adults can't seem to separate themselves from the device as it stands now. If people are indeed able to reserve same day FP+ above and beyond their allotted 3 then this practice on dark rides/performances will be widespread. GUARANTEED!

There was nothing negative about the above statements. Sometimes the truth hurts. And crow tastes awesome as long as you use some hot sauce on it. ;)
I hadn't even thought of that yet. Ugh. :faint:

I think that we had better get used to the little screens being lit up around us.

Surferdave, I think I love you.

Ok, my $0.02.

I'm taking my nearly 3 year old for his first trip this fall. I have exactly zero idea how he'll do on any ride at Disney, let alone any dark ride. I don't know what his tolerance will be as far as shades of dark or other environmental noises/scares (cannons on POTC, for example). I already have glowsticks bought and planning on bringing them. Cracking a glowstick and calming him down is going to be far less disruptive than him screaming or the ride stopping when/if he would try to escape. Am I going to drag him on a ride I know he won't like? Of course not. I simply just don't know how he's going to react.

As far as whats-her-face and her not so thinly veiled narcissistic viewpoint of how her rights supersede everyone else? As many previous posters have stated, this "I don't care what you say" attitude is not new nor is it likely to go away any time soon.

I have ZERO problem speaking my mind when someone thinks their rights overstep mine nor would I let it ruin my whole trip. For example, first flash--I'd assume you forgot. Second flash, I'm going to believe that you can't figure out how to turn it off. If it flashes again, you can bet you'll be getting a reminder from me. It's just rude. Just like I don't let my screaming toddler stay in the restaurant and cause a fit because I know it ruins YOUR night, I'm not going to sit by and let YOU ruin my night because the other 100 videos of POTC on Youtube aren't good enough.

To add an amusing story: A couple weeks ago, my son and I staked out a spot for our local towns parade. We ended up sitting next to an elderly couple (with grandkids) to watch it. There were lots of little kids all around us, all sitting down on the ground or in camp chairs.

About half way through the parade, a mid-30's guy comes up and literally steps over us to stand in front of us. He drops his camera bag and other items he was carrying and begins to make himself at home. I said "Excuse me?" about the same time the woman next to me says "You must be lost, this is where we are sitting." He turned around and says "No, I'm waiting here to see my car drive by. I've got $80,000 in my car and I WILL see my friend drive it by"

I retorted with "Maybe you should have spent $10 less and bought yourself an alarm clock so you could have been here on time to get yourself a spot to see like the rest of us."

The elderly man then stood up and said "You can pack up your stuff or I'll pack it up for you, either way, you will move. Go find somewhere else to stand." The guy threw a giant hissy fit and walked back to the back of the crowd to the cheers of the people sitting around us.

Selfishness knows no gender or age limits.

I'm one of those people that doesn't go nuts if someone takes pictures on a ride. I do it myself!! Everyone tell me what a horrible person I am!!

Anywho, if your granddaughter will feel more comfortable with a flashlight, go for it! She should be able to enjoy rides just like everyone else. I wouldn't worry about other people.

Enjoy!

I'm just going to go ahead and agree with the people who called you obnoxious, but I'm not worried about what you think about that.

I think if you look like Chris O'Donnell, it's not the car.

No one mentioned a CAR!

Actually I love both of you pretty equally---as long as you don't stand in front of me during a parade, take pictures during a ride or blow bubbles in my face. Well, I'll forgive bubbles. Chasing bubbles can be pretty fun.

It's the car, right? Chicks dig the car.

We'll be at WDW in October as well, we'd like to sit next to you guys at the parade. :thumbsup2

Wait. You better not be joking me. Think of all the wrongs we could right together. I could be the Robin to your....well, you know.

I think if you look like Chris O'Donnell, it's not the car.

Wasn't it Val Kilmer's line? It really doesn't matter, either way I feel dirty for quoting Batman Forever.

No one mentioned a CAR!

Well, technically the a$$hat who got in front of you mentioned his $80,000 car.

We will miss you, since we're going early October and you appear to be going late. Maybe Disney's in for a long month of parade vigilantes.
