I just realized how old I actually am...
Back in my younger days in Disney, people didn't worry about frivolous stuff.

Someone took a picture? big deal, I guess they wanted to capture the moment...

Someone was blowing bubbles? look at them trying to spread some magic.
(if allergic let's just walk around it)

boy with flashlight? kudos lil man for tackling your fears.

people cut in line? so what? guess they really want to ride that ride.. it's only an addition minute or two for us. we're on vacation, we aren't in no rush

We had smokers in lines back then, but hey it didn't ruin our trip.

People are so more worried about others' consideration instead of worrying about where you are, with people you love.

Back then it was about worrying about what you are doing, not what what every other tom, dick or harry was doing.

If you let someone ruin your "magic" it will. If you brush it off and realize that it's just a minor incident in a major scope of things, then your experiences will indeed stay on the magical path.

People are so high strung these days. Unless it puts you on your deathbed, how serious is it really?

You underestimate us sir. Some of us are perfectly capable of acknowledging or calling out people for being inconsiderate arses without letting them impact our good time in the least. For instance, I'm still here having a good time while Miss "I don't worry what other people think" has left us for a kinder nicer Disney forum that must also yearn for better days gone by.

I'm not trying to underestimate anyone, I'm just acknowledging my age and how times have changed lol.
things seemed much simpler back then. To me, it seems people are going out their way to be offended. Maybe it's just where i'm from, we don't sweat the small stuff down da bayou..

As a matter of fact, calling someone out does far more to improve my own state of mind than if I just let things go and don't say or do anything about those who are inconsiderate.

I like the way you think. :)

Which is my point. Now days it's all about "you offend me! so I must counter act!"
What does that solve? absolutely nothing.. the most you'll get is a confrontation and some eye rolls. and chances are the offense will still be done..

My point initially is this.. look at the offense, is it reeaally worth the confrontation? Is it in any way, threatening your safety or well being?

Just curious what your view on the ADA is? I have said myself that strobing on a dark ride is beyond the Pale. But someone with gimp legs is definitely manipulating your plans when they eat up 2 bus spaces with their ecv.

Or what about someone who gets vertigo easily due to a concussive head trauma, a dim light on their shoes can help them maintain their sense of up and down.

There's such a thing as reasonable accommodation that should be made to our fellow members of society. I don't mean in the legal sense of the term, just an element of grace we may extend to each other.

Your comment has nothing whatsoever to do with mine. I am not taking your bait for an argument.

It may not be that people have an issue with blowing bubbles in general, but some people are allergic to the solution. Aside from that, bubbles are sticky and mess up glasses/sunglasses. It is not something you can easily clean off the glass, you need a glass cleaning solution; most people don't carry that with them around a theme park. ;)

It's certainly a choice. Would I rather go through the entire ride on Spaceship Earth watching someone 4 cars ahead taking a flash picture of everything they pass, or yell for them to stop so everyone can enjoy the ride? I'll choose to yell for them to stop every time. :)

And I'm not saying you are right or wrong by doing so. All I was saying is how times have changed. These days it seems to be the thing to do. Back then, we just didn't let things like that bother us.

I like the way you think:thumbsup2 I dont sweat the small stuff and I am an uptight italian born and raised in NYC.

But people used to also be much more considerate and polite. Times HAVE changed and everyone feels much more entitled these days to act however they want as long as it suits them. It's easy to be less bothered by people when they are being polite.

That can actually go both ways though. The offender doing something others dont like or "breaking the rules" as well as the person speaking up against it and acting out as well.

Edited to add: I base my opinion on some of the responses in this thread. Some of the responses about how far people go to make someone stop doing something that is against the rules are quite absurd.

These have all been at Disneyland but I've heard a CM announce over a ride speaker several times "No flash photography!" when someone was taking pictures on dark rides. If I'm recalling correctly it's happened on HM, Pirates, and Snow White .

I totally agree. If only we could go back to the way things were pixiedust:

I don't know how often I've actually seen people really do anything about people taking flash pictures or cutting in line or any of the things mentioned here. Is it really the 'thing to do'? I don't know that that's accurate.

People certainly complain about it a lot, and even say they wish they would have said something, but just can't... but very, very few actually do say something.

If someone chooses to take pictures throughout a ride, it is not going to bother me, beyond a few moments of "what an idiot" crossing my mind.

But internet forums allow us all to gripe and feel more empowered about these issues. But how many actually actually go out and do something about it? Are you really seeing people beat down the flash photographers constantly? Or shouting at people getting in their way? I don't.

no, and you are right, I know it's mostly venting. But there are those few who actually do. I just hate to see people get all bent out of shape over frivolous things because then it over shadows the good they experience.

While I don't disagree with you about not sweating the small stuff and enjoy the vacation and your family. The rudeness has to stop. Ts out of control! People only think of themselves and their family like they are more important than anyone else. One or two quick photos isn't usually what gets people upset its the non stop flashes trough the whole ride so much so that others cannot enjoy the ride. That's wrong. Yes, have fun with your group but also remember there are many other groups/families around and try not to bother them. If everyone tried this things would be better like they used to be.
