One Fab Beach and a Magical Tower June 2013 We leave Friday 6/14! PTR

;)

PTR Plans for Friday, June 14, 2013

On Friday, June 14, 2013 we are leaving our Indiana Home for Our DVC Home in Orlando, Florida.

We will be leaving early in the morning around 4-5am and driving straight to Orlando. We have estimated that we will arrive around 10-11pm Friday night.

This is will be the first time we will be driving straight through to Florida. We will be driving our 2011 Black Chrysler Town & Country Van.

We plan to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the road with stops to use the potty and get food.

We usually have breakfast at Chick-fil-a and dinner at Chick-fil-a, if possible. Dinner will be determined.

We will be staying at an off-site hotel in Downtown Disney called Hilton Garden Inn.

Shawn’s job as a commercial project manager requires travel; he builds up hotel points through Hilton by staying at Hilton Garden Inn or at a Hampton Inn. These points allow us to stay at Hilton Hotels for free by using the Hilton point system. We use these points for vacation travel or for a weekend getaway. We have also used them for our anniversary stays. It is a nice perk!

The plan is to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn for two nights before our stay begins at Beach Club Villas on Sunday, June 16, 2013.

We will arrive at Disney this day! So excited! The next morning we have to move to another DTD Hotel Resort!

I had accidently lost my subscription to your PTR... but then I think I saw a question you asked about dining for DS on the Dining thread... (I may be able to help you with that one... (I have an 18 year old DD) so if you tell me what he likes food wise... I may be able to help...

(plus we're going to be there in three days so it'll be fresh in my mind....)

As for him not wanting to drive... is it possible that he's anxious about it? (Does he know anyone who's been in an accident?) It's not something he may come out and say but I do know kids that have felt that way...::yes:: He may just need time to get used to the idea...:confused3

I'm going to go back and reread your plans...

& I'll def think of dining ideas...

(We're leaving on Thursday but we'll be back on Tuesday - so if I don't get back right away... that's why...:goodvibes

Hi! The question on the Disney Restaurant Board was for someone else. We are taking DS to Yachtsman while we are there. He loves steak.

On the driving, I talked with him a bit and he said he just doesn't want to study for the test. He would rather play xbox, boys!

So I told him he will have to study and get his permit. So he told my husband, Mom said I have to get my permit acting all sad. So we are forcing him. Haha! Well I am!

I can't wait to read about your trip to BC and the Holiday at WDW. I am looking forward to it.

:goodvibes

:dance3:

200 days until our stay begins at Beach Club Villas

199 days until we are at DTD and staying at the Hilton Bonnet Creek.

198 days until we leave for Disney!

:dance3:

The Beach Club really is a beautiful resort... we absolutely loved it... the pool, the theming, the convenience- the whole Boardwalk...:goodvibes

We sadly cancelled our ADR for Yachtsmen... but I want to go there... the menu really does look very good:thumbsup2

Yes... if DS doesn't have any kind of fear issue surrounding driving... the sooner the better... it's really difficult in today's world not to be driving and the longer he waits... the more likely he is to make it a bigger and bigger deal...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get all the ADRs you want...

ADR Pixie Dust! :wizard:

So I feel like I received some ADR pixie dust this morning. :wizard:

I got up at 5am, so that I could be ready to make ADRs online at 6am. I usually call and make them but I decided to try it differently this trip. I had my coffee, my computer set up, the dogs had been outside, the cats fed and watered. I was organized and ready. For some of you that do not know, Disneyworld.com is switching over to a new Disneyworld.com website. :bitelip:

There are a few bugs, actually a lot of bugs so unfortunately, I was unable to make my ADRs until after I dropped DS off to school. :(

I got back home at 7:15 and called.

I was only on hold for about 5 minutes.

I was able to make all my ADRs but 2 and got all the times I wanted or close to it.

The Pixie Dust :wizard: was that I was able to make ADR’s from 6/15 through 6/26, which was way past that +10 rule! Yay! I do have to call back for the last 2 days (6/27 & 6/28).

Thanks for reading my chatter! :hyper:

So
I
made
our
Via Napoli
lunch reservation
this morning for
Thursday, June 27.

I had to call again, :hyper:
I knew I would be unable to make it online again.

So, The dining specialist I talked to said I don't think that the system will let me make your reservation for that day before she looked it up.

I said, just try it because yesterday, it let me make it up through, Wednesday, June 27.

She said, I may get an error message.

I said, I bet it will let you.

She says, Did you make this reservation online or over the phone.

I said, yesterday, over the phone.

She tried it and it worked! Cha-Ching!!!!

Then, I told her I was unable to make dining reservations online even with my resort reservation#. I said, that is ok because I like talking to the dining specialist personally, that it was fun. She chuckled.

She also tried making Crystal Palace for me for Friday, June 28th. I told her it wouldn't work but she tried and it did not!

So, I will be calling tomorrow.

:cheer2:

Crystal Palace Breakfast ADR has been made for our last day! The tradition continues breakfast buffet on our last day.

I got an early ADR, and unless times change which is entirely possible. it is before the park opens at 9am. This will be really nice. We haven't had an early MK ADR like this since 2008.

I am so curious what our Limited Time Magic Weeks will be!

I have been curious about several things:

#1 - What will our Limited Time Magic Weeks be (We are there for the last 2 weeks of June) ?

#2 - Will the RFID Annual Passes be ready at this time?

#3 - Will Fastpass + be available at that time to Annual Pass Holders or DVC Members?

I am looking forward to seeing how all of these play out. I am also curious about how far along the construction will be on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. It will be interesting to see how things progress. I love the constructions time lapse videos!

PTR Plans for our Pre-Disney Stay at DTD - Saturday 6/15 :wave2:

After our full day of driving from Indiana to Disney on Friday, 6/14 :drive:

We have plans to sleep in at the Hilton Garden Inn that we checked into the day before; we will be staying the night again.

The Plan is to let everyone catch up on sleep. Get dressed and head to Downtown Disney!

In the event one of the members of our family gets the grumpy ugly monster hunger pains, we have snacks and I believe the hotel has a small breakfast with cereal and milk.

We have plans to have lunch at:

Cooke’s of Dublin:

We have never had lunch at Cooke’s of Dublin. I have wanted to give it a go several times. Aaron & Allison love fish & chips. I really like everything on the menu at Cooke’s of Dublin. Shawn wants to try the battered burger. Fried yumminess!

I was originally planning to do a bit of window shopping at DTD. I really think this will not work out for us. I am assuming we take our time waking up and getting dressed. I do not think we will make it to lunch until around 1pm. There will be no time for DTD shopping!

After we eat lunch, the plan will be to head to the TTC. Where we will park our van in the Magic Kingdom parking lot and head to TTC to get our DVC PAPs and our TIW card.

Then, it will be time for a ride on the Ferry!
I can’t wait to see my favorite place in the world. Disney World! I love the seven seas lagoon. The view of the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and the Monorail! It is gorgeous!

I am assuming that by the time we arrive at the Magic Kingdom it will be around 3:30pm.

We have 3 goals for this evening!

#1 Ride Pirates of the Caribbean – POTC will be closed for a few days during our vacation for a quick rehab from 6/17/2013 - 6/20/2013. I want to get a few rides in before it closes down for those days.

#2 Eat at Casey’s Corner – We love the Ball Park Nachos and the Corn Dog Nuggets. Add Plastic Cheese and we are in heaven! I am sure there will be a few sweet treats along the way.

#3 Watch Wishes and take in the night time brilliance that is the Magic Kingdom. I love to see all the glory of all the beautiful lights, buildings, lamp posts and most of all Cinderella’s Castle in colorful twinkling lights! There is no place on earth I would rather be in that moment in time. I really can’t wait to potty in the Tangled theme bathroom at night!

After we are finished here, we are heading back to the Hilton Garden Inn to catch some Zzzzs.......!

More PTR plans to come......!!!

:wave2: Good-Bye for now!

I just followed your link and I'm really curious about the Limited Time Magic...:goodvibes

You got some really great ADRs

Love Via and Raglan and Boma... haven't done Crystal Palace at all but going to try it for Breakfast next July and possibly Yachtsmen...

So you did really well... great variety...

Funny that you had to tell the CM that you couldn't make ressies till the next day...:rotfl:

We have gone several years end of May beginning of June and it is wonderful. We have been the third week of June and it is really starts to heat up. We do not have a choice but to go the last 2 weeks of June 2013 because of DS Marching Band Commitments, I would rather go the last week of May first and/or second week of June (Our favorite time to go).

You got some really great ADRs - Thank You!

June 2013 Disney Planner & 30 day Countdown Chain!

In the past I have just used a plain white binder, notebook, or clipboard as our Disney Planner for our trip. It has always worked. Well, I came across the crafty side of this board and WoW! There are some really crafty people, who gave me some wonderful ideas. Thank You!

A little back story on this:

My son plays the trombone in his High School Marching Band. This past fall was his second marching season. I received a call asking me if I wanted to be what they call a Box Mom.

Box Mom is defined as this for DS High School Band - We keep the uniforms and kids organized. We make sure they have the right color of socks, shorts, tshirt, and their marching shoes on dress days. We also assist them at Band Camp and practices, food, supervison, water, medical assistance. One of our Box Moms is a Nurse, which is very helpful and comes in handy. We supervise them at Contests and we travel with them on buses.

Here is the part that relates to how I became a bit crafty! A Box Mom also makes encouraging cards for the kids. These cards are like scrapbook pages. I was schooled in this by my fellow Box Moms. At first, I was so scared that I actually cried! Haha! Now, I can laugh at this because Thanks to those wonderful ladies, I am now capable of being a bit crafty myself.

Here is one of the cards us Box Moms made for the marching band kids for encouragement:

I covered up the words of encouragement on the back (tells too much information for a public message board). These cards are laminated, cut out with cricuts, there are a total of 20 Box Moms just for the Marching Band and More for the Guard. 4 of them get together and plan these cards. Amazing to me!

Anyway, to get onto what I want to show everyone!

I decorated my Planning Binder and made a Countdown Chain! Here are some photos:

I haven't finished it yet, I ran out of double-sided tape. Below are my supplies waiting for double sided tape to finish the countdown chain.

I just realized, I can be crafty after years of thinking I can't be crafty!

Yay! :dance3:
