OK, we're back to planning a quick trip to Orlando cause the last one didn't pan out.:rolleyes1

Hubby and I will fly into Orlando on a Sunday evening around 8 pm and have Monday to do some business in Orlando. Then we'll leave Tuesday to come back home. So, basically I'll have Monday evening to visit something Disney. We won't be able to visit a park because hubby doesn't have an AP (yet!) and I can't see paying $80.00 for 3 hours in a park.

So, I am taking votes -do we:

1. Go to a restaurant at one of the monorail resorts and then catch Wishes from the Magic Kingdom ferry dock or a monorail resort beach? If so, which restaurant? (everything except California Grill, cause it's not available the night we might be going).

2. Go to Beaches & Cream for an ice cream? I've heard that we can then take a walk to watch Illuminations from a bridge? If so, what bridge?

Thanks!:dance3:

DW and I love the restaurant at Fort Wilderness Lodge. You're closer than at the Ferry Dock.

2. I think it is the bridge between Yacht Club and Swan/Dolphin.

We like the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. You could also rent a Surrey bike and cycle around the Boardwalk a couple of times.

If you are available to dine before dark a meal at Sanaa at the AKL is fun. We enjoyed the food and had a great view of all the animals. The lounge at AKL is also fun.

I would not give up on the California Grill if that is what you want. There are always cancelations. Keep trying.

I would either book an ADR at Kona at Poly then go out to beach to watch Wishes, or book Narccoossee's at GF, and time it to watch Wishes from restaurant. They pipe in the music. Most people go out on the verranda to watch. We had a window table, but people went out to veranda and stood in front of windows, so we ended up going outside. but it was nice to look out the window during dinner and watch the Castle Change colours.
After Wishes you could go to the Boardwalk and stroll around. I assume you will have a car rental?

You could also go to DTD.

We would recommend eating at O'Hannas at the Poly (great family style supper very yummy!) and then heading to the beach to watch wishes. Very nice and romantic in the dark with the music piped in.

Another suggestion would be to go to Epcot. We are going on memory but believe there is walk-up ticket prices for after 4 which would be cheaper. Anyone else see these?

Have a great time!
