I will be down in Orlando Nov 28 - Dec 2nd. Saw that MK was going to be open until 1am on Nov 30th. I will be able to get out of my meetings by 3pm that day so I would get to MK by 4pm.

Is it worth it to just go that night? I will not have any other time and I have never seen the MK with is Christmas décor up

thoughts?

absolutely, 1 night is better than 0 nights. :)

4pm to 1am is a rather full day(9 hours). many rope droppers only do about 8 hours actually in the park (the ones that resort break in the afternoon). You'll be around during the time the castle does it's frozen lights look and see a lot of MK. I commonly go in at night only and certain areas of the parks are walk on, it's not horrible to wait in a few 20-35 minute lines, start to look for fastpasses that day starting about noon and getting aggressive near 3 and you can probably skip many of the long lines.

you'll have a blast.

Can I just buy a ticket at the gate or should I buy online before I go?

Yes. I would not hesitate at all.

You can do either. It just depends on if you would prefer to book your FP's beforehand or just see what is available the day of. Since you won't be getting there until 4 I would lean towards purchasing beforehand just so you have a shot at decent FP's!

A million times yes. 4-1 am would be so fun. Buy the ticket online so you can set up FPs in advance for 4:00 - fireworks.

i was in ft lauderdale for training one year and the wife and kid had never been to disney. We drove to orlando and stayed 1 night and went to magic kingdom for a day. was worth it as the wife got addicted. if i was ever that close, i would make a trip.

If you have never seen the Christmas decorations, I'd do it. 9 hours equals about $11 an hour when you divide out the ticket price. That's worth it IMO.

You said something about a meeting. If you are eligible for an after 3pm Convention ticket, you should totally buy one in advance. I don't think you can get these after arrival. Your convention organizer should have a phone number or website. They are a considerable discount below the 1 day peak season MK price.

Speaking as one, no DISer is going to tell you it's not worth it! I travel to Orlando for a conference every year, and I always try to scheme some way to get there. This year, the sponsor is renting out Harry Potter for a night as our entertainment. Then 2 weeks later, we have a family vacation to Disney, so I'm meeting my agenda that way. No matter the time of year, if you can get to Disney for a few hours, it's worth it. Definitely look into the conference discount ticket -if one is available to you, as MK tickets are quite expensive. I have never been to Disney alone, but I think it would be an awesome adventure - take your time and enjoy! :wizard:

Definitely the wrong bunch to ask. We're lurking on here just to read about someone who has a chance to go for one afternoon. I am so jealous that you have the option to consider an evening at MK::worship:

My wife and I drove our son down last Spring for the Disney College Program, where we knew his schedule, and, therefore, our could not be planned. Turned out we had a free day. We headed to MK -Without a PLAN:worried:.
What a great time we had, just having a totally "bonus" day. Instead of our usual frantic pace to get everything done on the list, we toured slowly knowing that anything we did was pure frosting on our cake.
Enjoy.
