Tuesday at 1pm is my c section. I had a section with my son but I am still getting afraid. I am planning to listen to some podcast to distract me from the anixiety as I wait. Last time my husband talked to me about everest which was new at the time and I woulnd up riding it one year to the day that my son was born. I am planning to take our daughter next year when she is one so I am going to focus on that when I need to "find my happy place" while I am in the OR. I know I am rambling here, I hope I have some great news to report back soon.

Early congrats to you. I understand how you feel. My 1st one was an emergency c-section so there wasn't much time to think but my 2nd was scheduled so you know what you're getting into. I'm sure everything will be just fine. It's nice your DH can be in there with you.

I will have my third c-section in June. I know I'll be nervous when it's time, but one thing I always tell myself is that at least I get to be awake for surgery and my hubby gets to be there too! That way if I ever have to have another type of surgery, at least I've done it before in a "more comfortable way" and will know what's going on.

Good luck and congratulations on your newest blessing!

C-section. Couldn't be a better reason to have a surgery. You'll be fine. Like PP, 1st one was emergency. 2nd, I was glad for c-section. DS was 10 1/2 lbs. By the 3rd...whatever.....

I had my 3rd c/s on Thursday and just came home today, I relaxed listening to podcasts and thinking about taking newest DD to the world in October.

Good luck and best wishes. My doc said that second c-sections are usually easier than the first for recovery. (Sorry, I don't know from experience because I did a VBAC with #2). It is nice to have Disney for your happy place though. I went to my happy place during labor this time and imagined the beach at Castaway Cay.

Congrats on #2. Sounds like you'll have one of each, how fun!

Listening to podcasts will be sooooo relaxing. Just think happy thoughts about Disney!

I found that the second surgery is easier than the first simply because you know what to expect. And C-sections are great because you have a baby when you are done!

You will be great!

Early congrats!

Congrats!!!! What a gift you will be bringing home this week! I wish you lots of pixie dust! Think positively and all will be fine!

I have had two c-sections as well. My second was planned and it really wasn't so bad. I want to be honest with you that the recovery was a little slower....perhaps because I was a little bit older, or there was not a ton of time between surgeries or just because I was also taking care of the older sister too.

I also went through a full labor with 3 hours of pushing with my first one before have the section. So I really got to experience the ahem...'best' of both worlds.

After going through the pains of labor, I would take the surgery anytime! At least there can be pain meds involved :-)

Good luck!!! And think about all the magical things that you'll do at Disney when she's older....princesses, BBB....

Congratulations to you & your growing family :goodvibes
I'm sure everything will be fine. God bless and good luck :grouphug:

Congratulations!!! Just think in no time you will be holding your new precious baby.

Awww, thoughts and prayers going out to you and the baby today, everything will be wonderful! I agree with mdvlprof, there is definitely no better reason for surgery! :cloud9:

I have had to have 3 c sections. One was April 5!!! My son who will turn 26 tomorrow!! I also had 1 for my daughter and another for an emergency surgery not a pregnancy. I m sure you'll do fine!! Sending good thoughts to you. :-)

Oh how exciting! My best friend just had her first baby last Thursday, a little boy. He is an absolute cutie! I'm sure you will be just fine, just take it easy and relax and enjoy all the time you'll get to spend with your little princess. :goodvibes

Good luck to you, sending pixie dust your way!

Congrats to you! I know what you mean I had a planed c-section with my second dd and it was so stressful the night before but everything will be ok and then you get to meet your new little bundle of joy. Something I did myself the night before is I went to the hair dressers and had my hair French braided so that way I still felt good about what I looked like. It made me feel better. :grouphug:

I can't comment on the c-section aspect as I'm nowhere close to experiencing a pregnancy yet (22 and still dating!) but I just saw your thread here and wanted to wish you and your family all of the best. This time tomorrow you'll be holding your beautiful new daughter! That's such an amazing thought. I know surgery is scary, but you'll have your DH there, and all of us back here at the DIS there in spirit!

And like many others have said, what a wonderful reason for a surgery. Your family will be gaining a gorgeous little baby. To think, all I got from my last surgery was a crummy inflamed appendix before they wisked it away to a lab!!:crazy2:

(I'm hoping to make you laugh, I don't mean to demean your anxiety in any way. I like to think laughter is the best medicine! :goodvibes)

I'll keep you and your family in my prayers for a safe & beautiful delivery and speedy recover for you!

I've had five cesarean. First two attempted to deliver the usual way, but eneded up with c-sections. Last three were planned.

You'll do great. It'll be over in a breeze and you'll be nursing and snuggling your sweet new bundle!

Take a deep breath and remember that your doctors and nurses are used to the procedure and they aren't worried, right? I know it's tough to be the one going through it. I will be thinking about you Tuesday at 1:00.

Sending pixie dust your way to help ease your anxiety :wizard: and thinking of you and your new beautiful baby that you will be snuggling in less than 24 hours! How exciting!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the wisdom and laughter. One of our cars broke down today so that gave me some drama to focus on. I am such a control freak and a RN so it makes me a terrible patient lol I am just going to try to forget for tonight and look forward to posting tomorrow to report all is well! Thanks again everyone, the dis is the best!
