Help!! My family and I (all 8 of us) are travelling to Orlando from January 27th thru the 30th. This is quite possibly the most hectic trip I have ever planned. Everyone has certain things they just HAVE to do. DS(4) has to ride Space Mountain and Tower of tTerror, DMIL has to ride Soarin', DH and I HAVE to go to the AAP preview of Expedition Everest. So our first two days we are going to be visiting the 4 Disney parks. :scared1:

My FIL, SIL, and her boyfriend want to go to UO, and IOA, but they are all leaving on Sunday so this is our last day in the parks. Now, here is a list of the must sees at UO, and IOA. Hopefully someone cab help me figure out a way to get all of this done in one day.

IOA:
Incredible Hulk, Spider Man, Jurassic Park River Adventure, Pteranadon Flyers, Discovery Center, Dueling Dragons, Flying Unicorn, Cat in the Hat.

UO:
Mummy, Men in Black, Shrek 4-D, ET Adventure

Is it even possible for us to pull this off? :confused3 Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dana

You should be able to do all of that in one day, especially for the time you are going. You won't be able to do PT Flyers unless you have a small child with you. They will sometimes let you ride without a child if you are at PT Flyers when the park first opens and there is no line.

Well, my son is 4, and is the reason we are wanting to do PT flyers. Although, I have to admit, part of me has always wanted to go on that ride!! Now that we are taking him I can!!

Any opinion on which park we should go to first? I was thinking UO, since there isn't as much that we want to do at that park. Unfortunately, I don't have the same experience with UO/IOA as I do with the Disney Parks. With Disney I know which rides get crowded first, so I know what to get done first. I don't know anything about crowd patterns at UO/IOA.

It shouldn't be crowded at all when you go. I'd do Shrek, Mummy, and MIB first then ET. Head over to IoA and do Hulk, Spiderman, Jurassic Park River Adventure, Pteranadon Flyers, Discovery Center, Dueling Dragons, Flying Unicorn, and Cat in the Hat. Just be there at the gates by 9:00 AM.

Did I read somewhre they open the gates at like 8:45? Last time we got there later, but had FOTL.

The gates *sometimes* open around 845. Generally, the park opens between 840-900, depending on how ready all the attractions are.

Two parks, one day! Not possible. I am sending you the following info (FYI)

Q. Are there particular days that are busier than others at the specific Disney parks?

A. The chart below diagrams which days are busiest at each respective Disney park:

This thread is about Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure not Disney parks.

phamton, you beat me to the punch. Of course, all I was gonna say was ??HUH???

One day two parks, completely possible. But, where phamtom suggests Universal Studios, I suggest IOA first. Things like Hulk and spiderman and PT gets busier first.

Well, at least I wasn't the only one to go, HUH?! And a bit off topic two parks, one day at Disney is even possible. It's just a matter of prioritizing.

I was thinking US first, mainly because there isn't as much there that we want to see. I think 4 attractions.... at IOA we basically want to see all of the major attractions. So if we go to UO first we can get those out of the way and spend the rest of the day focusing on the stuff at IOA. Does that make any sense?

Well, its not a bad theory, but if you want to do just about everything at IOA, then that would be the park to start out with first and early as the big attractions get very long waits in the afternoon, and later in the morning. USF tends to be, in my experience, the opposite. The big rides, of course will be busy, but you can usually do single rider and probably even get by with a 25 min. wait. At IOA, the rides like Hulk and Spiderman tend to get to 45-60 mins by noon. Again, just what I've seen.
