One day / Two Parks - Is it Possible?

We are also doing 2 parks in one day next week. Last time (before Harry Potter, mind you) we only had tickets for Universal, but upgraded to a 2 park ticket at the gate. We had no problems completing both parks, and were really glad that they had offered this to us because we were finished with Universal in a few hours. I think it really depends on how many times you want to ride certain rides, how much stuff you skip, and if you want to take in any shows, etc.

I was in IOA one week after HP opened and WHAT A MAD HOUSE!! We were on a cruise so only had 6 or 7 hours in the 100 degree weather. Bad decision. IDK what IOA's park capacity is but i swear they were all in WWoHP, and in line for a butter beer. 2 hour wait for the GIFT SHOP!! Anyway, i'm taking a solo trip 11/10-11/18. Arriving late on the 10th so i'll have the 11th and 12th to do non-disney things. I'm planning on doing a one day 2 park ticket. Getting to IOA as soon as it opens and heading straight to FJ. I did the hippogriff ride in June but if the wait isn't too long I'll do it again. Then going to check out the shops and when i'm done in WWoHP i'm off to US. The second day I plan on going to SeaWorld. I havent dont US os SW since my pre-teen years so i'm pretty excited!!

Does anyone know, if i buy a one day tiicket and figure out that i need a 2 day ticket later in the day, can you upgrade if you've already gone in the parks?

My DH and I were in Orlando the week before Labor Day and did 2 parks in one day, on a Tuesday, no express passes.
We went to WWOHP right at the gate drop, did FJ, shopped, allowed hubby to get over his motion sickness, took some pics, had a butterbeer and then headed to suess landing to fully get over FJ (hahahahaha worth it though)! We then went to Marvel and rode Spiderman. We walked around for a bit, had a snack and went to US. We saw the I love Lucy exhibit, walked aimlessly for awhile, saw the horror movie make up demo and ended up riding MIB, the Simpsons, ET, Shrek and saw the animal actor show as well before wandering back to IOA. We went back to WWOHP, rode the hippogriph coaster and managed to get into Olivanders with only a half hour wait in line. We wandered around and took more pictures before sitting down to dinner at Margarittaville at 5ish. Had we done all the big roller coasters etc. it probably would have added an hour or 2 to our day. But aside from Olivanders and the shows everything had a wait time of less then 10 mins.
