One day trip to MK

My son will be playing in a golf tournament on Aug. 1 at the Disney's Magnolia golf course. It is located next to the GF. Would it be feasible for my husband to drop off my DD and myself at the GF so we could catch the monorail into the MK? Is there a character breakfast at the GF we could possibly do first?

Grand Floridian has 1900 Park Fair breakfast with the Mad Hatter and Alice, and possibly Mary Poppins, Tigger or Pooh. It is an all you can eat buffet. You can then take the Monorail over to the Magic Kingdom. If you reserve QUICK, 1900 Park Fair has an 8:15 am opening that morning for 2!
