To celebrate my 40th birthday, I am arranging to stay, with my best buddy, in Orlando for 4 days from Sun 13th to Wed 16th June. As this will be the first time I've managed to get away without DD & DS (& DW!) I am hoping to squeeze a lot more into each day, using early starts and FP/UE where appropriate.

We can only spare one day for both US and IOA, sadly, and I wanted to cover at least the following attractions over the day -how does this schedule sound? (Oh, and which day would you go, between Sunday and Wednesday?)

Arrive 0815 at IOA -

As soon as allowed in, dash to Hulk & get UEs

Go to Spiderman & ride.

Straight thru Toon Lagoon & Lost Continent to
DD - ride & ride & ride!

If time, return for Hulk UE slot.

If not, or after Hulk, return to Jurassic & do River Adventure,
before going back to Toon Lagoon & riding Popeye & Bluto.

(Leave park after this or Hulk)

PROCEED TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS...

Now I expect congestion from here on, and am assuming it's going to be after lunchtime. We want to try and do Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, Jaws, MIB, BTTF, ET and T2. Does this plan look sensible?

1. Get UE for Shrek.
2. Go directly to MIB & wait for a ride.
3. BTTF
4. Jaws
5. UE time? ride Shrek & get UE for JN
6. If lines not stupid, wait for ET
7. UE time for JN or T2 thenJN
8. ..whatever I've missed!

Lastly - I am assuming that the best way to get access is still
the 2 park/1 day ticket...is this still only available at the gate? How much $, currently?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Mike:)

When you go to MIB use the single rider's line and you should be able to get in several rides instead of just one.

Thanks damo - just the sort of thing I'm after!;)

Your plan sounds great, however, you're going in June, which is a good thing, and bad thing.

Good
You're going mid week.
Da Mummy will be open, yea.....

Bad
Kids are out of school.
Express pass machines at USF will be sold out by noon, or the times on them will be for the evening. The line for Shrek will be at least an hour, probably 1.5. Da Mummy will be 2.

If they still have the express pass booklets for sale at the front of the park, I'd suggest buying one for USF when you get over there. You're going the same time as me. I'll be there June 15th thru the 17th. Lucky for me, we're staying at HRH, and I'll still get there at 8am each morning so I can be first on Da Mummy.

Wow Mr Jones off to Orlando again what happened to the decorating of the house?:jester: If u can afford it u might be beter seeing which onsite hotel is cheapest for fotl access all day it may be worth it

..SHHHHHH! don't tell anyone!:teeth: I'm just looking for a friend!

Quite like the idea of the UE booklets, not sure if we can stretch to full FOTL via Universal guest status, but will have a word with my, I mean his travel agent!

sounds like a good plan - I may borrow it as I'll be going for only one day as well....

now,as a dw, myself, I must admonish you for sounding just a touch too happy about leaving dw at home.::yes:: tsk tsk

;)

tinkie - sorry!:p

Breaking news... I've bitten the bullet and booked the last night in Royal Pacific Resort, so we'll have FOTL for a day and a half!!!:hyper:

When we were there last OCt we bought an Express pass booklet that covered both parks - one fotl access to each main attraction - for $20. We "got started" around 10am - Did Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, BTTF, MIB, ET, (DD may have done woddy woodpecker) then over to IOA for Hulk, Spiderman, Rickshaw Falls, Jurassic Park, Fire and Ice, Cat in the Hat, and One fish, two fish. DH and DD went and did Hulk one more time while I had a marguerita. That was around 4PM. We were getting the car by 5:30 PM. Actually, many of the rides standby lines were only 15-25 minutes, but it took the pressure off to just use the Express Pass. If cost is not the biggest issue, It certainly make life easier to do this. But the single rider line is also a good way to beat the crowds.

Where did you get the express pass booklet? That sounds like a great idea! Thanks :teeth:

They were selling tham at a booth right after you go thru the turnstiles. It actually wasn't a booklet, - just a pass. It was $15 for one park and $20 for two. On the back is said Combo Express Plus. I think 1/2 the time they didn't even scan them because there really wasn't that much of a wait, but we wouldn't have had time to try them again anyway.
