Hello, I have been to DL a couple times and I have a friend that is going to FL this summer in May and wants to take her kids to WDW for a day, they are 5yo twins and it will be for one day, she asked if I knew of any discount places to get tickets. I know for DL there is getawaytoday.com and way.com is there places like that for WDW for just a one day MK ticket?

Unfortunately, 1-day tickets don't get discounted. In fact, the same places that sell multi-day tickets for less than the gate price will add a surcharge to 1-day tickets which makes them more expensive to buy from the online ticket sellers than to buy them from Disney. She may want to consider grabbing a few Disney GCs at a discount (like at Target with a REDCard or thru Sam's Club). Then use those GCs to buy her tickets directly from Disney.

USSSA offers discounted one-day tickets.

Whoops: they offer discounted two-day tickets. They must have discontinued the one-day option.

If your friend is somehow related to an IBMer, they offer discounted 1-day tickets through their employee benefit program. It's been quite a while since I looked at them, but I think the discount was something like 12% ?

Good point! And it's not just IBM...any Disney corporate sponsor will have discounted tickets! I can actually buy tickets thru Working Advantage and it's through my health insurance company. I just checked and 1-day MK tickets are discounted - both the "any" day tickets and the "value day" tickets.

I've been out of the WDW loop lately as we just returned from a DL trip, so I have a question: Does MK have value day tickets now? I thought the seasonal pricing for tickets only went into effect for the California parks. Did it also go into effect for the Florida parks?

It changed about a week ago when ticket prices went up. The surge pricing only affects 1-day tickets.

It did I looked on WDW site and one day tickets are different prices for different seasons

I wonder if Wal-Mart participates in this that is who she works for

Yep. I looked too and saw that. I guess I was so focused on the CA parks at the time that I didn't notice that. We were actually flying to CA the day they announced the price increase. We had a layover in LAX and it was on a news screen in the airport that prices were increasing the next day. So glad I saw it as I used my Gift Cards to purchase our Disneyland tickets right then on my phone. Saved us a small chunk!

I thankfully got our tickets for our DL trip this summer thru Getawaytoday.com a couple weeks before the price increase

I don't think so. Disney's corporate sponsors is a pretty small list, and I don't remember Walmart being on it. She doesn't personally have to be employed by one of them - a parent or grandparent can get the tickets too, I believe ...

Yeah I'm in the same boat and kind of sad I didn't book when prices were lower BUT they were non-refundable and I have people coming from out of the US who don't have their visa appointment until next week!
