We're heading down the last week in August. We're staying in Disney, but want to do a one day trip to IOA. The bulk of all the attractions we want to do are at IOA. Besides ET and Mummy, US is primarily simulators, which my husband won't do, so I don't see the need for a 2 park pass. Our main priorities would be to get on Hagrids, Forbidden Journey, the new Jurassic VeliCoaster, Jurassic Pk (log flume), Hulk and maybe Dudley's. Given the new reduced hours, do you think it's possible to do all of these comfortably all in one day? Or would you suggest getting the express passes? Thanks.

You can always purchase the express pass in the park if you need it. I would plan on being there an hour before park open to try for the new Vel Coaster as it probably won’t have express anyway.

On a week day at the end of August you should be able to do everything on your list, the only speed bumps would be Hagrids and the Vel Coaster on the same day if one or both is virtual line only and you can’t get a spot.

2 of your main goals will not have EP anyways (probably). If you're there to be towards the front of the rope drop crowd, you should be able to hit at least one with minimal wait. As long as you're planning to be there all day, I don't see you having a problem doing those 6 rides - figure even averaging an hour wait for each, you can do them all.

If you have the opportunity, Hagrids at night is all sorts of awesome.
