One day in Disney!

According to Disney 's website the hours are 9am to midnight, with an early one hour EMH at 8 am for resort guests

Just realized I had my day and date mixed up.
We will be there Saturday but the date is the 13th and the site has 8-1 with no magic hours I didn't know the park opened that early and stayed open that late without it being magic hours.

Oh, ok, I was looking at hours for the 12th since you had said the 12th. Yes it stays open that late quite often. The 8 am opening is usually an indicator that they are expecting big crowds that day.

Considering the long day that you have planned, I repeat my earlier recommendation that you consider a nice leisurely meal at one of the resorts on the monorail line.

Eeeks! Believe me this was not a day of choice but rather convenience due to the reason we are heading to FL this one day trip to MK was a bonus for me really so I'll enjoy it even if it's not an ideal time to go haha!

Is there anything of note dining wise say at the Port Orleans resort I believe it's called? I was totally obsessed with beignets during my trip to DLR last year and in researching I believe that resort is the only place that has them?

Port Orleans requires a bus ride from the MK. That wouldn't be recommended for a midday break as you'd lose a lot of time. The closest resorts to the MK are the Contemporary, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian, all reachable by monorail, and Wilderness Lodge and Ft Wilderness, reachable by boat. I would suggest searching the food options at those resorts to see if any appeal to you. I'm not sure if you can find beignets anywhere but POFQ but the other resorts all have their own special offerings.

As the previous poster above stated, going to POFQ just isn't worth it for some fried dough.

One big difference between WDW and DLR is the vast size of WDW. It isn't as simple to walk from resort to park and so on as it is in DLR.

If you are obsessed with fried dough, have a funnel cake and call it a day

Totally not the same with a funnel cake vs. a beingnet.

I'll have to see what each of the mentioned resorts have to offer food wise and go from there. We might not even opt for that option and just stay put in MK and maybe a reservation will open at a place there between now and Saturday. :thanks:

I agree; they're completely different!

Have fun exploring the options!

I know that they are not the same thing. But if I had only one day at MK, I would not take the time out of that one day to take a bus to POFQ for fried dough

It's why I asked where Port Orleans was as I knew that was the only place that had them and not knowing much about WDW and never have been there before was gauging distance of the two places and obviously wouldn't go that far out of my way to get beignets but was unsure of distance so thought I would ask anyway, and because it is that far I def wouldn't waste that much time having only one day in the park.

More questions:

Since I have FP+ selected for our tickets do I have to go anywhere to get the FP+ or are they already loaded on the park ticket and I just show them the tickets?

Where do I pick up our tickets since we had to do the will call option as they would not be shipped in enough time before our trip?

Thanks again!

There are scanners at the fast pass entrances of the ride and you will just tap your ticket against the mickey head during your return window. You have to do this twice, once outside the line and again before you board the ride. After you use your 3 fast passes there are kiosks located around the park that you can visit to get additional fast passes (if there are some left, always worth a look in the magic kingdom). I'm not sure about your other question as I have always had my tickets in advance, but I'm sure some one else will know!

Sweet!
Thanks for the info!
