One day car rentals

We will be staying at ASMo the last week of September. We also have the opportunity to go to Sea World for free with our Citibank Visa points. Is it better to rent a car for a day to go to Sea World or use the shuttle service?

How easy is it to pick up a car from ASMo?
What is the cheapest rate that I could find for a car rental?
Will my 4yo dd need a booster seat or is it legal for her to use the regular seat belt?

There is also a transportation system called LYNX. It is not very expensive and runs from Disney to Seaworld. Check out the website at http://www.golynx.com/

How about taxi service? I don't know much about it in the Orlando area, but maybe someone could tell you about fares, etc. (is it the same fare no matter how many people in the cab?) and how the fares compare with a one day rental.

Sometimes taxi is better because 1:you don't have to find your own way, 2: you don't have to park the car, 3: you don't have to find your way back, and you don't have to be worried about being too tired (or any other impairment) to drive back, and 4: you don't have to worry about insurance issues if (Heaven forbid) something bad happens on the road.

Of course, any shutttle service covers all of those potential problems, but a cab is just a little more convenient (if the price is right.)

i have a one day rental with alamo on June 16th to do some shopping. It was $23 for the day incl taxes. We have rented on site before and it is very simple. Shuttle will pick you up at hotel, take you to rental agency and return you when done. Did this on our Jan. trip and it worked perfectly.

You can use Budget which (closest location) is at the Doubletree Hotel just up the street from Downtown Disney. You can take the shuttle bus from ASMo to DTD and then walk up the block to the Doubletree. We are renting from this location again to get us from Pop Century to our Disney Cruise in September.

If we rent a car for one day can you also rent a carseat? Do the rental car companies pick you up from your resort and bring you to the car care center, or is this just for a certain rental company?
