One day at WDW and fast pass

We will be going to WDW in Feb. We frequently go to Disneyland here in CA and will only be going to WDW for one day. The rest of our time will be spent at the other attractions not available in CA!

My question is can we buy one day passes and get fast passes. From what I read the FP are done differently in Florida than CA. Can I get fp on line in advance with one day pass?
