One day at each park?

Lots of good advice so far. I wouldn't bother with Park Hoppers for a first trip. Actually, we bought 5 day Hopper w/Water Parks and More for our most recent trip and never once used the hopper, despite our best intentions. According to our various bands and gps equipment, we would walk between 6 and 9 miles on our park days, and we frankly did not have the desire to through in the extra mileage required to switch parks. We alternated park days and water park days.

It isn't just the ability to walk, but how much stamina you all have for the constant high level of stimulation, throngs of people, and heat. And it will be VERY hot and humid in June. Back-to-back park days can be exhausting, too. Don't overlook your need to relax a bit. It will make your trip far more enjoyable. You will have a much better time and be happy to think not about what you "missed" but what you have to look forward to doing on your next visit.

I would suggest two days at MK too. If you want to see all four parks, could you go for five days? The trouble with the other three is that they won't necessarily keep you as busy depending on tastes.

Everyone is different but I would do 2 days at MK for sure.
I can easily skip Epcot and spend a day each at HS and AK.
I dont think hoppers are worth the cost.

I was just wondering if people felt one day at each park was enough to have an enjoyable time for a trip? I'm considering going for 5 nights with 4 park days in mid June, one day at each park, but I'm wondering if I should alter that. We'll have 7 and 8 year old girls, will 2 days at MK make more sense? And if so, would you add an extra day or keep the 4 day tickets and make them park hoppers so we could do two days at MK, 1 day at EP and half days at HS and AK?

I would definitely do 2 MK days, no matter what. I'd also do AK. If they are Frozen fans, I'd see who is offering more that time of year - HS or EP with the new ride - and choose one of those.

If I were to buy a 5 or 6 day ticket through Undercover Tourist and decided I want an extra day when already in Disney, can I just upgrade another day for like $10 instead of paying the price of just a one day admission?

The important thing to remember is that everyone has different tastes (as you can see from the responses). So IMO, for a first trip, planning to visit each park at least once is the best choice. Then, if you can add an additional day, add a second MK.

I would most definitely do 5 days, and spend 2 days at MK, and then 1 at each of the others. Otherwise, get Park Hoppers and do 2 days at MK, 1 day at EP and 1 day split between HS/AK

Yes, you can.

The only issue with this is that you would not be able to get 60- or 30-day advance FP reservations for that added day. Is that a big deal? Not really. Even the night before, you can schedule FP for all but the very popular headliners, which hopefully you have done other days.

We prefer 2-3 at MK, 2 at EPCOT, 1-2 at DHS, and 0-1 at DAK (not big fans) In your situation, and assuming that you want to go to all 4 parks, I'd add the extra day. 2 at MK and 1 at the rest. I personally wouldn't do hoppers for a short trip, but that's me. We get more use out of them when our trips are longer and we have more time to hop around.

Since FP+ started, I only have made one fast pass typically before leaving home. Thanks for the info!

This is why I love the park hopper. I like to visit more than one park per day. Go to one park in the morning, stay until mid afternoon, then go back to rest a bit, and then head back out for dinner and whatever park at night.

Thanks for the advice! I didn't have tickets yet, but was on the verge of booking a package and trying to decide if I should add the extra ticket day to my planned package. I ended up adding a day and booked 6 nights with 5 day base tickets, so we could do 2 days at MK. I was getting such a good rate with this travel agency it was worth it. I don't think I'll need park hoppers but I forgot I could just add those later when we get there if we decide we need them.

I think that's a good plan - two days @ MK and one day at each of the rest of the parks. If it's your first trip, there will definitely be enough to do to fill the day at EP, AK, and DHS.

I'm glad you decided against just a half-day at AK and DHS, splitting the day in two. You'd be missing so much! I know you'll read here on the DIS that "Such and such is a half-day park." What they really mean is "Such and such is a half-day park for me, because I've been there before and only need a half-day to repeat my favorites." I always recommend that first-time visitors spend at least a full day at each park - there's so much to do!!
