One day at Disney

I'm not sure if this is the right board to be posting this question, but here goes.
My husband and I are staying at the Pop Century Resort for one night in a few weeks before meeting up with some friends for a visit to their time share nearby in Orlando. Visiting the parks is in the plans for later on in the vacation, so we are planning on avoiding it for this first day. We are planning on arriving around noon or so, and trying to come up with ideas on what to do for the day there (it will be a saturday). We had thought about "hitting" one of the water parks but I know the best time to arrive at one of them is in the mornings. Does anyone have any ideas for what we could do for one day at Disney? We aren't planning on renting a car, but it isn't completely out of the question.
Thanks in advance for your help! :wave2:

Head over to DTD or go resort hopping. Both can be done with Disney Transportation. Plenty to see and do with either option! Make dinner reservations at one of the hotels. Heard lots of good things about Boma!......................P

BTW, you may have better luck posting this over at the "Theme Parks" board or the Community Board..............P

I'll second the suggestion for DTD. I'd also suggest going outlet shopping. Then finish the day off with dinner at Boma's! ::yes:: We love the atmosphere at Boma's...relax and enjoy a leisurely meal then walk the grounds!

Have a great trip!

If you get tired of shopping, take a ride on the resort monorail or on the epcot monorail. Eat at Ohana at the Polynesian and then watch Wishes (if they are on that night) from the beach there.

Sounds like I could have written this post. We are arriving at POP on a Sunday around 10:00. We want to go to MK for half day. Question: Since we are staying at the Pop, can we ride the monrails free of charge? If we were buying our 1 day ticket for MK only, could we make dinner reservations at Epcot that evening or are we limited to MK?

Yes, you can use any Disney transportation (including the busses, monorail, and ferry) if you are staying on property.

I'm pretty sure you cannot eat at Epcot if you are using a one day non-hopper at the MK. However, you can eat at one of the resorts. I like Ohana at the Polynesian. Its an all you can eat buffet thing, except you don't actually leave your table, they bring the food to you. And its all polynesian themed of course. I've also heard the restaurant at the Contemporary is very nice.

In the evening I recomend watching Wishes from the beach at the Polynesian. Stay there to catch the electric water parade on the beach. To get back to the Pop you will have to go next door to the ttc, catch the monorail to epcot. Don't enter epcot, but catch your bus to Pop. The reason I suggest this is it may be your only opportunity to see Wishes, and you can do it without going to the parks.
