Is it possible to do AK and Epcot in one long day? We want to take advantage of AK's early hours and Epcot closing later. Any tips? We have a 9 and 5 year old with us.

Well that depends on what you mean. It's possible to go to both in one day (assuming you have park hoppers.) It's not possible to do everything there is to do in one day - my family easily spends 2.5 to 3 days in Epcot each trip.

Only if you want to just walk through the parks to see them and do a few things. You didn't mention when you are traveling, but there still is a lot to see and do to accomplish everything in both parks, even on a slow day.

I definitely think it's doable! We usually go on pretty much everything at AK in a half day. Epcot we DO use a whole day, but we also spend half of it exploring the countries, so I think it's all about what you want to do!

I agree with Alesia. With PHs you could do some of the attractions in AK in the morning and early afternoon, and then hop to Epcot and use your FPs for some of the attractions there. But you won't come close to seeing even half of what's available.

With children the age of yours I would do AK, then resort pool time ( if you are staying onsite) then see if the kids are up-to EPCOT.

First week of October. We have four day military park hopper passes. We were thinking a majority of our day in AK and a few hours plus dinner in Epcot.

When we go in March for 10 days we only to parks one day. WE go AK first for early hours, do the safari ride and Everest and walk thru the zoo area to see the gorillas. Sometimes we stay for the first bird show. Then we head to Hollywood where we might have fast passes for a couple Rides. Then we have lunch at the brown derby. Go back to room for a while. Go to Epcot for dinner and to walk around. Hope to get on test track for single riders and have dinner. We either stay for fireworks or depending on MK hours head to MK for fireworks and a couple rides. Then we spend the rest of our time at the resort. I Could skip the parks entirely but my husband insists we go for at least one day.

You could definitely do all of AK and then hop to Epcot for dinner. And if you just want to stroll around a couple of countries, sure. But if you're thinking of rides in FW for the kids and dinner, that may be more walking they'll want by that time of night. Of course if you're using Disney transportation, the bus is going to drop you up front, so you'd have to walk all the way back for dinner anyway (unless you're doing Sunshine Seasons). I'd personally opt for pool time and dinner at my resort, and in bed early for another rope drop. But that's how I roll ;) heehee

That depends on you. We did this one year and saw everything we wished to at both. That was some time ago though and now we prefer to give AK a little more time.

YES! I would spend time at Animal Kingdom during the morning hours, and then head to Epcot for the later afternoon and evening. Illuminations is at night at Epcot and that would be nice to see. Animal Kingdom can get busy, hot and crowded, so it's nice to get Everest and Safari done first thing in the morning.

Yes... we've spent a half day at AK with 8, 10 and 13 yo. Pool after lunch, then Epcot for dinner and FP+ Went few days before Christmas, no EMH for AK that day.

AK we did (didn't need fp+)
- Tusker House Breakfast (yummy) at 8:10
- Safari
- Dinosaur
- Primeval Whirl
- Kali River Rapids

Probably could have done more but left to get lunch somewhere else. We left around 11:30.

Epcot -
- Nemo
- Dinner Coral Reef
- Spaceship Earth
- Soarin

Walked around countries after
I'm sure you can get in more than we did. We were taking our time this past trip.
Have fun planning!

Can be done. I think at AK, it depends on your kids. I think for your young ones, must do attractions
  • Safari
  • The Festival of the Lion King Show
  • Nemo Show
  • Flights of Wonder
  • The Bone Yard
  • walk at least 1 of the trails - 1 features gorillas, the other tigers (that sleep a lot)
that leaves a lot on the table for another trip, but this would be a good taste. I think you could finish this by 2:00 at the latest. With your EMH, you can probably do a lot more.
I'm just not sure how your kids will hold up with an EMH at AK, and then stay late at EPCOT. Maybe Ellen or American Adventures, or any of the movies at EPCOT will give them a chance for a nap.

I didn't read other post but its def possible to go to both parks but I honestly feel like Epcot is a full day if not more. I just couldn't do Epcot in half a day. I like to much stuff there and the rides they have. Id use your Fast passes for Epcot of course you'll just have to pick which ones you want to use.
