Hi all,

Couldn't find an answer to this so hoping someone can help. On our upcoming trip with DH's parents we decided against the DDP (cost more than our DP's will eat and we'll have the DDE card) so we'll be paying for each meal. Instead of carrying a big amount of cash around, or having to get cash before each TS meal, is there a way fror us to simply pay with two credit cards? And be able to say, put 40 on this and 60 on this one? I know we do it back home for work a lot, but wasn't sure if this would work at Disney. Any other suggestions are welcome as well.

Thanks!

Ty

Technically credit card companies do not allow this, but many places can easily split the check anyway through their point of purchase computers. I do not see where asking the servers to separate the bill is a problem. We often get asked this because I travel with my parents.

I have 2 suggestions:
1. Request split checks at time of order from server Your DP may NOT get DDE discount as techinally it's another check.
2. If staying at WDW resort charge meal to room key, get DDE discount and once back at resort or every couple days have DP or whoevers CC isn't on rm key go down to desk and request front desk to run card and charge X amount to that card.

My friend and I have found it to be less of a nightmare to do option 2.

I have never done it at Disney but if they take credit cards they should be able to split one check up in to 2 totals. I have done this at restaurants hundreds of times and it is never an issue. I don't know what other people mean when they say CC companies don't allow this. Unless 1 of you is getting a discount when the check comes put 2 credit cards in the holder and tell the waitstaff to put X on this card Y on the other. Done, very simple.

I have never heard of this. This is the same thing as, let's say, using a gift card toward a total and using your CC for the remaining balance. Now, the server may not want to do this, but it really is no big deal.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I didn't even think about charging it back to the room. Since we'll have DDE, that is probably the most sensible thing to do. If it's not a problem that DP's pay part with their card, I'm sure they'll be happy with that as well.

I've never heard about the CC companies not allowing 2 cards either - I work in downtown Chicago and we do it all the time at lunches or dinners.

Thanks so much, and if anyone thinks of anything else, please let me know!

We just did this at Whispering Canyon on 1/2. I asked the waitress before we ordered if it would be OK to give her two credit cards at the end and put 1/2 on one and 1/2 on the other. It was no problem. I used a Disney Visa Rewards Card and my brother used a regular credit card.

I would just ask the server before you order, and it shouldn't be a problem at all.

A gift card is different than a credit card. Yes using a gift card along with a credit card is allowed, but two different credit cards for one transaction is not allowed. I work in accounts receivable at an manufacturing plant and when customers pay they cannot split the payment between more than credit card-it must all go on one card.

Split checks are the way to go.

I used that as an example. This must just be an accounting practice used for your company. I have had customers determine the amount they want to use with one method of payment and pay the balance with a different one.

If they split the check, they may lose the DDE discount.
