One bus from Wild. Lodge to the campfire program?

Hi,

I will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge in a few weeks, and someone on another forum posted that the Orange bus is now not just an internal Fort Wilderness bus, but that it also goes to Wilderness Lodge. Does anyone know if this is true?

The reason I am asking is that when we travel from the Wilderness Lodge to the campfire program near the Meadows Trading Post in Fort Wilderness, I am hoping that there would be just one bus, and no connections. Or would we have to take one bus from the Wilderness Lodge to either the Settlement or Outpost Deposts in Fort Wilderness, get off, then take a second bus from that Ft.W depot to the campfire program/Meadows Trading Post area?

Thanks

You also can take the boat, after 3:00 p.m. it goes from WL to campfire then it will be a 10 minute walk to the campfire.

The orange route should get you there just fine. It is however always a good idea to double check with the bus driver when you get on, a couple of years ago it seemed like they changed the routes alomst daily, but things seem to have been pretty stable for the last year or so.

Last time we were there the bus from the lodge seemed to change to an Orange bus at the settlement depot. Of course all you have to do is ask the driver. Once you are at the settlement depot, if you do have to get off you may chose to make the walk instead of waiting for a bus. We have often made the walk back to the 800, or 900 loop from there and never seen an Orange bus the whole time.

If I'm not mistaken the orange bus is an internal Ft. Wilderness bus but leaves Ft Wilderness, loops to the Wilderness Lodge and back to Ft. Wilderness for its internal stops, and back to W. Lodge again.

Almost like the Wilderness Lodge is one of its stops.

^^ I think you are right, I'll know for sure in about 2 weeks and I'll post when I get back.

As mentioned, the Orange bus runs from the Outpost to WL and back. At WL it stops at the last stop as the busses approach the stops or the first stop as you walk out of WL.

We always stay at FW and when we visit MGM and then to EPCOT we usually get off the returning bus at WL and wait for the Orange bus to take us back to FW. Many times this bus shuffle is faster returning us to our site which is most often in the 900 loop. When the bus from FW approaches it usually has Fort Wilderness on the sign and as it leaves the driver changes the sign to Outpost Orange.
