One-Bedrooms for June 6-12?

WOW!

I was looking at the availability board the other day and I noticed that almost all of the 1BR's are reported as "not available" for those days. The only exceptions are the BWV-Boardwalk View (which I find hard to believe), BWV-garden/pool view, and OKW/SSR.

We have a value 1BR for June 7-11 and I am wondering what is so great about those nights, particularly the 1BR's. There seems to be quite a few studios available. I guess the 1BR's are that much better .

FWIW, I know that the 6th is the finale of Gay Days and Star Wars weekends are in effect...is there anything else special that week?

Many schools will be starting their summer vacation that week, especialy if they had to many snow days to start earlier.

Wow, we, here in New York, don't get out of school until June 25th!!! When do others start back to school in order to get out that early?

We start right after Labor Day.

Our schools start in mid-August.

In southcentral Kentucky, we start the 1st of August and get out the middle of May, unless we have snow days. Then it's usually the end of May.

In NH we're set to get out June 25 because of all the snow days and ice storm. We start at the end of August but have a week off in Feb. and another week off in April.

Maybe it is just the start of the South's summer vacation time and they are ready to head to the park.

In SW PA, our kids go back at the end of August and get out late May/early June.

As for the availability question, I can believe it! (and while I think those availability threads are useful they are high innacurate due to the lack of people reporting.) We have been checking every week to see what other 2 BR have opened for June 6 - 11. There are one or two days available here or there but absolutely none of the resorts have those 5 days together in a 1 or 2 bedroom. We have those nights booked at VWL with a waitlist at Kidani.

While this thread would not lead you to believe it, I honestly think that you are going to see more and more availability as the year goes on. More and more people are going to realize that they can't afford that WDW vacation this year (and sadly many will realize that they can't afford DVC either.) People have booked these vacations so far in advance but so many of their circumstances have changed in that time. I think some are holding on to the last minute in the hopes that they will still be able to go. I don't think the economic ripple has quite hit DVC yet but I really think that it is coming!

In my part of Louisiana, we started Aug 18, but get out by May 21, so we usually make it to Disney right after school and the crowds have not yet hit, nor the hottest weather of the summer.
