one bedroom suites at okw

Hi: Looked at the floor plan for the okw one bedroom suites. Does the bedroom portion of the suite have a door on it? Also are there any of the one bedroom suites that have two bathrooms?

The one-bedroom villas all have a door on the bedroom. There are no 1-BDR villas with 2 bathrooms at OKW or any of the DVC resorts. Sorry.

As the previous poster said, no 1-bedroom villas on property have 2 bathrooms.

Yes there is a door seperating the main bedroom from the living area. There is no door seperating the tub/sink area of the main bedroom though, simply a wall with a "window-like" cut out. A bathroom with a toilet, additional sink, and shower is seperated by a door from the sink/tub area of the room.

This is slightly different compared to other 1-bedroom villas on property which have an additional door in the toilet/sink/shower bathroom that opens directly to the main living area. This came in handy when using the sleeper sofa so that guests didn't have to go through the main bedroom to use the toilet/sink/shower.

If two bathrooms are important to you, I suggest looking into the Family Suites at Disney's All Star Music. These have a similar set up to the 1-bedroom villas (seperate living area, seperate bedroom with Queen bed), but come with two full bathrooms. Since these were converted from standard guest rooms, the suites do not have full kitchens, but rahter a small kitchenette area like you'd find in the studio villas with slightly more counter and shelf space.

The bedroom is a real honest to goodness bedroom. The bathroom has a sink and the tub open to the bedroom, but there is a door clsing off that area from the room with a sink, toilet and shower.

Here's what you need to know about the bathroom situation. While most of the villas have bedroom access to the bathroom AND access from the hallway, so that someone sleeping in the bedroom isnt disturbed, a few of the villas do not. SO if you have a napper or late sleeper in mind when wanting a second bathroom, be sure to request a villa with the second bathroom access.

I have been a dvc member at OKW since 1994 and really love the resort, the size of the accomodations and having the full kitchen facilities and the resort recreation and activities. This is a dvc resort, not a value resort like the AllStars. although I have not stayed at one of the family suites at the All-Stars, I do not think the accomodations would be comparable. I may be wrong. The benefit of a 2nd bathroom may be a factor for you, though.

I think, if I remember correctly, that the 1 BRs that have access to the bathroom from two places are in villas 31 and higher. I know that building 15 and lower have access only thru the MBR. I remember that because we had that one when DMIL was with us, and whenever she wanted to use the bath, she had to come thru the MBR. The higher ones also have access to the bathroom thru the laundry room.

Thanks so much. This is valuable information. I would love to rent a two bedroom and take my whole family on a future trip. But for now it would be three of us and hopefully a one bedroom. They look so nice.

I love the idea of being able to sit outside on the porch, as I cannot do the parks too long due to hip arthritis.

Let me tell you, there is nothing like an OKW one bedroom or larger villa. The very large porch (not just a tiny balcony) with the full table and four chairs is a wonderful place to just sit and relax in the early morning or late at night.

Once Kidani Village is completed at AKV, there will be one bedroom villas with two bathrooms in them. Jambo House villas don't have the space for the second bathroom in the one bedroom villa.

Also, the "window-like cutout" has shutters that you can open or close to the master bedroom. Just like all the master bedroom in all DVC villas. So you can sit in the jacuzzi tub and watch TV in the bedroom I suppose. Or you can pop the kids in the tub and sit in the bedroom and watch TV while they play/soak.

Besides, the two family suite bathrooms can hardly compare to the fabulous, large bathroom of the one bedroom at OKW. Jacuzzi tub with pedestal sink in one side. Stand up shower (large), toilet and sink on the other side of the door.

Plus a full sized washer and dryer.
