Yes but only for one day then again you might get more on T/T day.

If you love your Mom, bring some coffee with you. Theirs is terrible :earseek: .

You can pick up coffee in SSR @ The Artist's Palette if your staying there.
Good luck!

Bring your own. While some people don't mind the stuff they sell at the stores, if she is a picky coffee drinker, she may want her "Starbucks Sumatra" or whatever she drinks.

Great thanks for everyones suggestions. Wouldn't want mom to start out the day bad when we have my DDs 5 and 8 to keep up with !!!!!

Don't forget the coffee filters. The coffee won't help if you don't have filters!

Could someone please confirm the filters necessary?

I believe for studios, it's the 4-cup flat-bottom kind, and for the 1BR it's the 10-cup (?) flat-bottom kind.

That is one thing we forgot...filters. When we were at the BW, we used up all the coffee filter combos that were given to us. Then we bought coffee at the Screendoor, but forgot to buy filters. I went back to the Screendoor but couldn't find filters. :( Lesson learned!

Yes, bicker, those are them! They are about 100 for $1 at home, and about $2.00 for 25 if they are in stock at the Disney store.

(Though in a pinch, a paper towel will work as a filter.)

I'm not sure how well that actually works out. Paper towel is far more porous than coffee filters, so you'll end up with a grittier result. For folks used to French Press, that may actually be a good thing, but a lot of Americans (especially) like their coffee brown but crystal clear. Some folks address this by using two layers of paper towel, placed at 45 degree angles to each other. I'm not sure how effective that is at resolving the problem, but it is sure to cause a bit more problems with clogging, and therefore overflow.

Also, if you plan on going the paper towel route, make sure you get paper towels without any additives, else you will get very strange tasting coffee. Lots of paper towels have cholorine residue in them. (Until a few years ago, even some coffee filters did -- which is why "natural" filters became all the rage for a while.)

I'm not recommending you do it all the time, just in a pinch, it works, I've done it many times......there is also Cowboy Coffee in a pinch - a pan on the stove with the grounds right in it, skim the coffee off the top (and don't drink to the bottom of the cup). I prefer the paper towel method to cowboy coffee.

(My grandfather still drank cowboy coffee when I was growing up - that was just the way they made it - drip coffeemakers - even percolators - were for whimps. The coffee went in the coffepot with water, the whole thing went on the stove, you boiled it up, and poured it through a strainer to get rid of most of the grounds. My grandmother got out the percolator for company.)

Yes they have "coffee"...so I bring my own filters and coffee. As a studio user I have to say that I've only found the 10 cup carafes in studios so the standard flat bottomed filters will work in either unit.

We were just at SSR and brought our own coffee but were not prepared with filters. At our resort in Cancun they provide enough filters for the week. It would sure be nice if DVC would too.
