One and Done Rides...

Okay, I've taken a scan and the number of times Astro Orbiter is mentioned intrigues me. I've never made time for it in the past, but y'all have talked this fan of rides like ToT into giving AO a try!
:jumping2:

edit: hah! I thought AO was being mentioned because it's to 'thrilly' for folks. Like maybe being up in the air makes a difference? I guess I won't make it my first stop in the MK after all...

Astro Orbiter. In all my previous trips I had never ridden it, so my last trip this past September I tried it. It was the longest wait I had for anything the whole trip and ended up being really anticlimactic. I realized I wasn't missing anything, lol.
Yep, Astro Orbiter for all the same reasons. Plus it feels like you're sitting in a big tub.

If it was up to me I would never go on Its a small world, teacups and tomorrowland speedway. They are all based on comfort level because i'm a big/tall guy. Its a small world is the worst, probably because it seems like it takes forever. I only do these rides because of family.

the Jungle Cruise. I get that JC is a classic, but being cramped on that boat, hearing the same schtick each time...... I've got other things I'd rather do.

Agreed. Liked it way better as the Jingle Cruise as well!

Tower of Terror. I just don't think that feeling like I'm falling to my death is fun. :-(

I will never in this lifetime get back on Tower of Terror.

I went on this when I was very young and I still remember: Being on the ride in a "seatbelt" seat and feeling my self fly upward and gripping the handlebars on each side, refusing to let go because I thought if I did I was gonna fly out of my seat and die (not an exaggeration of the thought process at the time) I thought me holding onto those handle bars was the only thing keeping me alive as I sobbed, THEN walking off into the gift shop shaking and sheet white. My mother says "I don't remember it being that bad. They must have changed it" (must have gone on after they randomized it)
NEVER AGAIN. I AM SCARRED FOR LIFE.

Not a fan of Dinosaur. I would ride it if someone I was with wanted to. Just not worth it.

Mission Space Orange. Tried it once but likely will not try it again...

Love Kali River Rapids (For those folks who are reluctant to go simply wear a poncho. Much better than never going at all...) My record is 10 times in one day... Immediately after lightning so the line was empty...

Star Tours almost killed me off last time. I don't think I would ever "need" to go on that again. I never had any issues with the older version but the updated one is way more motion-y. The other is the Little Mermaid. Just Ok, could have been much better than it is. I'd go again if there is no wait but I wouldn't make a plan to go on it. Stitch falls into that category but that is not a "ride" really.

Mission Space Orange.

Considering I won't ride the Teacups I don't know why I thought a ride that uses centrifugal force was a good idea. I didn't hurl but I was nauseous for about 30 minutes.

FTR I rode the teacups in DL in 2000, I didn't hate them and they didn't make me sick, but I don't particularly like spinning and should know that as it was the only thing I hated when doing a mock up of Space training in the Spin Test. I never could right myself in the 3 rings exercise.

I hated Orange so much that now I won't even go on Green again.

Space mountain
Never done the teacups and don't care if I ever do.
Kali - don't really care to go swimming in my clothes and shoes

I only avoid some attractions (Mad Tea Party, Mission Space Orange) because of motion sickness but I have ridden them several times. The older I get the worse the motion sickness gets. I can ride Dragon Challenge or Hulk at US and be fine but motion simulators and spinning cups really get to me.

The ride types of attractions at WDW are so relatively mild compared to other theme/amusement parks, that I rarely avoid attractions. And none have been a "one and done" (what an irritating phrase :duck:).

Star Tours - I was dizzy for hours!

Tower of Terror - not a big fan of drops but I really wanted to experience this one and heard so many great things about it. Well, NEVER AGAIN!!! :)

While it's been "re imagined" ... E.T. what was Disney thinking? My family can't walk past it and not remember the horrors.

TOT ... Not doing that again.

Not "one and done" but my grandmother often made me go on IASW as a child. Now that I actually can make a choice, I refuse to go on it. I hope to never go on it again.

Country Bear Jamboree is not something I ever need to see again. I haven't ever ridden Stitch, and based on reviews, it's doubtful that I will.

Mission Space
Tower of Terror, I don't like it at all. But I will only ride if my son really wants to ride it again. He loves it and is not old enough to ride it alone yet.

When I was on the College Program I'd go to the parks on my days off and do everything multiple times (I watched Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable multiple times, for crying out loud). I came into this thread thinking that there's not a single ride in WDW that I wouldn't ride again.

And then I remembered the teacups. I've never actually ridden the teacups at WDW, because I've ridden teacups rides elsewhere and I always get very, very nauseous doing so. I could see maybe doing it if I was riding it by myself or with my mom so I could be sure no one was going to spin the cup, but even so I think it'd be too much risk of motion sickness for not enough reward.

It's gone now, but the Capt Jack Sparrow thing at HS. My DH and I walked out of there saying "that was the only time we will ever need to do this." Not sorry to see that mess go.
