Once we close resale (fingers crossed for this week)....

What do we get from Disney once we close a resale contract? This is our first contract so we have no info about how to contact member services, etc. Will the agency that sold us the contract give us info? Will Disney send us a package? I'm getting waaaaaaay too excited about this.
 
We just closed on Wednesday and it was in the system by Saturday afternoon. You can call member services at 1-800-******** and ask if you are in the system. You just need you name and address for them to check.

You will recieve the same welcome package as if you bought directly from Disney. We bought resale last month. We recieved a 2009 planner and letter explaining the rules of ownership. We then recieved our cards about a week later. But you do not have to wait to get your package to make your reservations. Just call MS and tell them you are a new member and would like to book a trip. They will walk you through. I had a really nice CM that was really a funny guy. He asked if I wanted in the Hospitality House at OKW.:rolleyes1 Having never stayed there I did not know there were no room "in" the hospitality house. When I said yes to his question he went on to say that the couches slept well and that it would take fewer points to book a stay there. He also told me that it was pretty quiet until daylight then it got noisey:rotfl2:.He was great and understood my confusion about all this stuff. Enjoy and Welcome Home.
 
You will note that the 800 phone number was automatically blocked out by the disboards. This is done since there are very few parts of the Disney phone system which have 800 numbers. Ask your resale company for it.

Once you are in the system, you can go to dvcmember.com. You will have to call MS to get your password. I suggest having them sit on the phone with you until you first log on.

The reason that the number was removed is because the DVC Member Services phone number is to be used by members only and not the general public.

Your resale broker should be sending you information on your membership at the time of closing. The Timeshare Store, Inc.® sends out information at closing including the phone number to Member Services, their hours and a reference on how to use and manage your points. Disney will be mailing you your Vacation Planner and membership cards in a few weeks following closing.
