Once Upon A Time

Just thought I'd jump in here. I became hooked to the show this month and watched all of Season 1 on Netflix and Season 2 episodes on Hulu to catch up. I have to say, this show is amazingly creative in terms of writing. I also love Regina's office and costumes. ;)

A couple of things that have been on my mind...

1. When the curse is broken at the end of Season 1, why do the "fairy tale" characters still remember their lives in the modern world? Wouldn't their memories be replaced with their true pasts? Shouldn't they not know who Henry is? Shouldn't they not know about their new lives?

2. Creepy factor... Rumpelstiltskin and Belle.

3. Why did the writers have Rumpelstiltskin and the Beast as the same character? Wouldn't it have made more sense to separate them or is there another reason we do not know yet?

4. Regina was awfully quick to give Henry over to Prince Charming/David. Why was this? She rebelled towards Emma, which I understand, but it still surprised me that she was okay with giving him up to another.

1. Breaking the curse simply restored their memories that were taken away. It didn't return everything back to normal.

3. They did the same thing with the genie from Aladdin and the magic mirror of snow white. I think it is just their way of putting a spin on the stories. It appears that the Aurora of the show is not the "orginal" Sleeping Beauty that drew Malificent's wrath.

4. A- She is either serious about trying to redeem herself, or B- she's got a bigger plan afoot. Allegedly when the curse was broken she was able to fill the hole in heart created by the curse with her love for Henry. Because she as able to love Henry she's able to let him go and do what is best for him.

So many tears! I completely lost it during the scene (you know which one- no spoilers from me just yet ;)) with our 2 leading ladies!!!!

That made me cry too and one other scene later made me start again.

.

Do we know why Mr Gold/Rumple walks with a cane? What happened to his leg? :crutches:

Do you think Cora will be the new villain and Regina will help in the fight against her? Also, I think Cora was the Kings wife who couldn't have children- I think she had to choose between having babies and being magic "all magic comes with a price". Didn't the elder Henry say that she was in love before him? Charming's brother was the baby Rumple obtained for her, part of "the deal". She left them for reasons we don't know yet, married Henry and Rumple got Regina for her (when she was "more portable")

Charming addresses having memories from both lives on last nights episode. When the curse is broken their formar memories are restored but what happened in Storybrooke is part of who these people are too.

I think Regina loves Henry and knew giving him to Charming was the right thing to do. She might be evil but Henry's resistance to her causes her pain because she loves him.

That's a good thought. I get chills thinking of Cora in Storeybrooke. I think Cora could be the Queen of hearts too.

I think Cora was the Kings wife too. I wonder if she drank the potion that prevented her from having kids in exchange for magic, if Rumple tricked her into it as revenge, (in the original fairy tale the millers daughter tricks Rumple and he doesn't get her firstborn which makes him very angry) or if she seeks the potion out because for some reason she doesn't want children.

I can't imagine Cora giving up being a Queen. I thought she pushed Regina to marry because she wanted that life.

I love Snow! The "get away from my daughter" part was awesome. The Emma/Snow scene in the nursery was awesome too. Can't wait for the next episode!

Same here. The tear filled confession from Emma reminded me of the fake emotions she emitted in the Mad Hatter episode last year. When she proclaimed how she wished that the woman in the next room really was her mother.

And, I loved the preview for next week too. But the pics from that ep, that were already online... HO HO HOOOOOOOOOO... It will be a barn burner.

I haven't watched last night's episode, but wanted to comment on last weeks.

When Charming was giving his pep talk on the road, did anyone notice the cars? The first three were old and something seemed odd about them.
First car - AMC Gremlin
Second - Plymouth Valiant
Third - Chevy Caprice wagon? maybe an Impala

I thought Charming's brother was his twin -- James, who was killed and then David left his peasant mother and went to live with the king.

That's interesting! Especially the first two.
People like you amaze me! How do you catch such small details?

Love that Jefferson was reunited with his daughter. Makes me wonder what's next for his character?

OK< see now I feel like a jerk because I thought the "Get away from my daughter!" line was queer. I actually rolled my eyes- BUT I think it may be due to me not being crazy about Snow. I cant put my finger on it just yet, but I think it's the actress that bothers me:confused3 Anyway when she said that last night I thought, "Is that necessary really? The Ogre cant understand you, so whats w the proclaimation we know you love your kid, but, she's your age, can you NOT be a goofball for two minutes????" I swear guys, this is what went thru my head. lol- although when she turned around and saw the nursery the way it was- i did tear up:sad:

BTW- Really looking forward to Capt. Hook next week-because HE IS A DREAMBOAT:p

You know, I've been wondering about that ever since the king mentioned that his wife couldn't have children. It got me thinking about where the twins came from.

I also think that Regina had (what I call) a Xena moment and has turned her life around. It makes sense that she might be fighting her mother in a future ep. I'm glad that she has changed. I like her better this way.

I loved loved that line, too! I also teared up when Emma realized what Snow had done for her. She said that no one had ever put her first before and finally started to understand the whole picture.

Can't wait until Sunday!
