I just finished watching. Aww, man! I really wanted August to be Rumple's son! What if he is and it's a double con? He had to throw him off the trail because, uh, he needs... to do something else... first. I dunno. Haha.

The preview for the next episode looks crazy.

When he threw the bean on the ground I said, "Oh a little Jack and the Bean Stalk?" And then it created a whirlpool like thing so I said, "oh, maybe not."


The other thing is that since that was the "last" magic bean, I wonder what other characters have used one...

Ah, but see, this is why I wonder if the Pinnochio line of thought isn't a false trail, as well. How many very obvious hints in the previews have we seen that that MUST be who he is?

Didn't the writers at one point, right after August was introduced, say that we wouldn't find out his real identity until next season? I thought I remembered something along those lines....

Something else that I noticed that may not be anything, but August has blue eyes right? Pinocchio also has blue eyes, but his son had dark eyes, I'm thinking they were either a dark green or brown.

I'm a member of the August is Pinochio camp. To me it makes sense.

But Rumple's son is somehow connected. Crazy thought--but could he be Henry's father?

THAT actually makes a lot of sense. If he chose to come to THIS world, he could be Henry's father, and that's why Rumple has such an interest in Emma... she could potentially help him find his son!

That was my thought too- but maybe that is what they WANTED us to think. I like the idea that August is working with Bae. I think that Bae would be quite old now though...

I initially thought maybe August was Bae, but then I decided against it because it was too easy. Wouldn't Pinochio be too easy?

What about the girl who talked to Bae...might she become someone?

Also, Bae must be in this world. It's the reason for the curse.

Did anyone else notice that the Blue Fairy said "The REST of the magic beans have been lost to THIS world"? Maybe they're in the real world, though if the dagger is stripped of it's magic in SB, they would be useless in the real world too...

I was so waiting for a beanstalk too. I think Bae has to be in this world somewhere. He went before the curse so he could be anywhere. He was 12 I think when they took him for the Ogre wars and Rumple rescued him after that so he had to be 12+ when he went through the hole. I guess August has to be Pinnochio then. There was the donkey. And theres no magic in this world so he must be turning back into wood.

Ooooh, I just had a thought! Assuming that August is Pinocchio, I was wondering why it seems like he's starting to turn back into wood - the difficulty walking the day he and Emma went to where Ruby found the heart, the difficulty he had getting out of bed in last night's show. Remember how the town clock started ticking again when Emma came to town? What if Emma coming to town also triggered something that's making August/Pinocchio turn back into a wooden puppet? We can assume that he's been living like a "normal" human for 28 years in a world with no magic, but why would he be starting to turn back into wood (and/or "die" like he told Mr. Gold) NOW? Emma came to Storybrooke!

I agree, but I have a problem with the dagger not being magical anymore and Gold saying there is no magic in this world, only to have August magically be turning back into wood. If there is no magic, he should have been a boy and stayed one or been a puppet and stayed one.

Unless Emma is bringing magic to the real world too and Gold doesn't know that. I mean the Mad Hatter did disappear pretty magically.

August hasn't been living in Storybrook. Maybe coming back is what made it start. And now that he's there maybe he can't leave. Maybe Emma can't leave either. I remember she was going to leave that one time and then the wolf got in the road.

ETA- I don't think August is magically turning into wood. If he's Pinnochio he is wood. The magical part was him turning into a boy. As the magic drains out of him he should become wood again.
