March 2026 Exercise Thread - Wearin' o' the Disney Green

35 minutes for me on Tuesday and 30 today, for 545/700,

which brings me (PollyannaMom) to pink. And a big congrats to Twilight Sparkle and luvpoohandcompany on reaching red! :Pinkbounc :car::car:

The team stands at 6,128 minutes and 69% :cheer2: just about 500 minutes from team pink!

Today's green Disney character is Fillmore from Cars:

From the Pixar Wiki - Fillmore is a main character in Cars and Cars 2, and a supporting character in Cars 3. He is a light green 1960 Volkswagen bus with rainbows, flowers and stickers all over him. He is the owner of Fillmore's Organic Fuel and a member of Lightning McQueen's pit crew.

I also read that Fillmore is the only car in the movie who has a front license plate, supposedly to look like a goatee as a nod to his voice actor, George Carlin:

I would love to have a real life Fillmore painted just like that!

275 minutes - horses, running, yoga

2200/2000

I don't want to cause more work for you, PollyannaMom, so no need to make this official, but I am going to try to get another 800 minutes in for the rest of the month. Adding in the more consistent sessions of yoga and tai chi this year has been immensely beneficial for balance, flexibility, and strength so I don't think I'm going to stop doing those activities. These sessions also seem to have really helped the arthritis pain I was experiencing, so that's a big win!

Huge congrats to sophy1996 and the TEAM on reaching pink and to Twilight Sparkle on reaching "original goal green" :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Let me know if you change your mind and do want it officially updated. - My spreadsheet does everything, so it's not a big deal at all.

Today's Disney green character is Flit (from Pocahontas) ~

Flit is another character who is voiced by Frank Welker (who we learned about in Pascal's entry earlier this month).

Here is some fun trivia about Flit from the Disney Wiki:
  • Flit's design was inspired and based on the trio of hummingbirds that appear in Disney's 1946 hybrid film Song of the South.
  • In real life, hummingbirds feed primarily on nectar (supplemented with insects), but in the film, Flit is shown to be capable of eating berries many times the size of his own head.
  • Despite his not liking strangers, he seemed to warm up to John Rolfe pretty fast in the sequel.
  • Flit's plumage identifies him as a ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris), a species known to inhabit the northeastern US, at least during the spring and summer.
  • In the sequel, Flit is shown still living in the area around Jamestown during the winter; in reality, ruby-throated hummingbirds spend the winter Florida, Central America and the Caribbean.

It also says that he appears in more than just the original movie:

Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World ~ Flit, along with Meeko and Percy, stowaway with Pocahontas on the ship to England, having larger roles than more minor characters in the film, such as Grandmother Willow or Nakoma.

House of Mouse ~ Flit made a couple of very rare cameo appearances in the House of Mouse. He appears briefly in the opening theme and alongside Pocahontas, Meeko, and Roy E. Disney during The Ludwig Von Drake Song in "Ask Von Drake".

Once Upon a Studio ~ Flit appears during "When You Wish Upon a Star", with Marie, Berlioz, Toulouse, Duchess, Thomas O'Malley, Tod, Copper, Gurgi, Basil of Baker Street, Olivia Flaversham, David Q. Dawson, Dumbo, Timothy Q. Mouse, Mama Odie, and Boun as they surround Pocahontas as she sings. Flit then joins in on singing the last line as the group photo is successfully taken for Disney's 100th anniversary.

:bounce: P.S. - If anyone is still waiting for their favorite green Disney character, please speak up so I make sure to get to them before the end of the month!
